A Season of being Unbound – A Word by Tami Shouse
As I was praying this week, I knew in my spirit that the Lord was speaking to me. I knew there was a shifting that took place and He was bringing a “new” freedom and encounters with the Spirit of Truth to his Beloved. We are in a season of being unbound. We have entered a season of no more confinement, a season of being set free; freedom from restraint and released from the things that have bound us. Our dreams will no longer be confined, our circumstances, our creativity and our giftings are being loosed and will no longer restrict us. Things that have kept us bound are now falling from our lives. Visions and dreams that have grown stale and stagnant are coming alive again.
The Lord took me to John 11:38-44 (NIV), when Jesus raises Lazarus from the dead. In verse 39, Jesus says, “Take away the stone.” Then Martha chimes in, “But Lord, I am sure there is a bad odor, for he has been there four days.” This verse resonated with my spirt. How many dreams have I carried that I felt were dead, how many relationships did I have that acquired a stench, how many times did hope deferred creep into my heart? How many times did I challenge the Lord with, “But Lord, it’s been dead for four days…or four months…or four years…or forty years?” How could you even resurrect something that has been dead this long? Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?” They moved away the stone and Jesus said, “Lazarus, come out!” Lazarus then came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen and a cloth around his face. Jesus said to them, “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.” Yes! Lazarus is no longer confined to the grave, Lazarus is no longer bound or tied up, but rather free from all restraint! Jesus released Resurrection power to bring Lazarus to a place of being “unbound.” This is the season that the body of Christ is in, we are being loosed and released into our destiny! It is time to go forth!
I feel that as we encounter the Spirit of Truth, we will no longer have to prove anything, but instead we will be able to flow in the life that we were created to live. Those lies that have kept us bound telling us that we have to be someone other than who we were created to be will begin to unravel and fall off of us. The Spirit of Truth is revealing our true identity in Christ and we will begin to accept and embrace our true selves. We have entered a season of realizing that it’s our choice to walk in the fulness of our destinies and to allow the Holy Spirit to remove our grave clothes and to let us go into what we were created to accomplish on earth. John 16:13 says “But when he, the Spirit of Truth comes, he will guide you into all truth.”
The truth is that Christ has already given us permission to be unbound and to walk in freedom. He has already freed us from all restraint. Now is the time to position our hearts to receive the Father’s love and to have the courage to walk in that freedom. He removed the restraints so we can dream again. Luke 1:45 says, “Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her.” Don’t doubt His promises!
Father, in the Name of Jesus, we humbly come before you. We thank you that we are in a season of being unbound. We are in a season of being loosed into freedom. We speak to those restraints and we declare that they must come off of us in Jesus Name. We embrace the Spirit of Truth over our lives, over our destinies and over this nation. We choose to walk with the Spirit of Truth and we choose to walk in our God given callings. It is time to arise and to dream again and to trust that the Lord will fulfill his promises to us. I declare that we are free from restraints and are living a victorious life…unbound in Jesus Name! Amen!
