Are We at Our Delivery Day? – A Word by Dawn Baker
Birthing is two-fold; it’s about you and it’s about the seed you carry.** **You’ve been entrusted to carry, and deliver, ‘the new thing’.
Birth is war and only comes through pain, adversity, time, preparation & ONE LAST FINAL PUSH! Holy Spirit has been reminding me of my natural childbirth. I was 29 weeks pregnant when abuse landed me in the ICU, having contractions one minute apart, with 7 doctors who worked to save my life and the life of my unborn child. One of the physicians who did not leave my side later told me, ‘we had a team on standby to save the baby’. Surviving, I fled to live with my mother, on total bed-rest, taking medication every 4 hrs, seeing my OB weekly. Much time and a lot of help went into me delivering my baby; and for me, everything seems to have prophetic implications.
Nearing my delivery date, while in my doctors office, they discovered there was no fetal heart rate! I’ll never forget my eyes welling with tears; everything I’d been through to be here at this final stage with the looming fear of a dead baby. I’d given up everything for my baby! Rushed to the hospital, monitors were able to pick up the babies heart beat and we all breathed a sigh of relief. A few days later, my actual ‘Delivery Day’, during labor the babies heart rate began showing signs of instability, (dropping, rebounding, dropping, rebounding), when suddenly it began plummeting! Fear walked into the room trying to steal what I had carried and warred over.** **But, suddenly, my OB entered and HOPE filled the room!
Within minutes, what Hell meant for death brought forth THE PROMISE! NEW LIFE!
Are ‘we’ at our Delivery day? Delivery day is about both us and the seed we’ve carried. We’ve paid in blood, sweat and tears, invested years for where God has us NOW! Fear has tried to encroach on us; but, Holy Spirit is stepping into the birthing room, (just as my doctor did), and** within moments the joy of the Lord is going to manifest right before our very eyes! The NEW THING (Isaiah 43:19), the manifestation of the promise of God fulfilled. His Recompense, the promise, is in the birthing! Recompense is defined “to provide (someone) with a just payment for loss or injury” (Merriam-Webster). He who promised is Faithful! We can be certain, absolutely convinced, that He who conceived, nourished and watched over His Seed in you is going to bring you to **your delivery day of His promises fulfilled!
“God is not a man, that He should lie, or a son of man, that He should change His mind. Does He speak and not act? Does He promise and not fulfill?” Numbers 23:19
“The One who calls you is faithful, and He will do it.” 1 Thessalonians 5:24
“because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:5-6
