Atmosphere for Miracles
Healing is not difficult. We have a God who specializes in miracles. It is our honor to facilitate the flow of His power to those who desperately need it. Over the years, God has faithfully taught me about healing through His Word, dreams, and visions.
A number of years ago, I had a vivid dream that demonstrated the type of atmosphere where healing flourishes. In my dream, a mother brought her son to me for healing. Of course, we can pray for a person’s healing anywhere, but because dreams are figurative, I wanted to take him to a church to receive healing.
As I looked around in my dream, I saw a large building a little ways from me. I spoke to the mother and son, and said, “Let’s go to that church.” The building actually did not look much like a church. It looked like a modern corporate building.
We walked up to the building, and I saw that there was an escalator to the top, so we boarded it. I looked around in surprise as we went up the escalator. Everywhere, I saw preoccupied people on their phones, and I knew that they were making business deals.
When we got to the top, we entered a large room which was crowded with people. I gazed in shock at the people and noticed that many of them were on their phones. Some were talking and giggling with each other. I saw a worship team there, but no one was paying any attention to the worship team. They were too preoccupied with their business and their friends. The worship team seemed to be simply providing background noise. No one noticed us.
Then, I saw a man that I knew was their “Jesus.” He looked like a caricature of a slick salesperson. He had a mustache that he continually curled and a sly look on his face. No one was really pay attention to him, either. In sadness, I looked at the mother and son, and said, “I just can’t pray for you here.”
We left the building and began to walk away. I was unsure what to do, but then, I noticed a porch off of the large modern building that we had left. Maybe I can pray for him there.
We walked back to the area where the porch was located, and I noticed that there was a river in front of us. The only way to the porch was through the river. As we walked through the water in the river, it reached to my neck.
This time, we had to climb up steps to reach the top. When we got to the top and entered the porch, I noticed that there were far less people. Then, I saw the REAL Jesus. He was dressed simply and love emanated from Him. I did not see a worship team, but there was worship and adoration that flowed from the hearts of the people in the room to Jesus. The people in the room gathered around us with compassion. Joy filled my heart as I knew that this was the place that I could minister healing. Then, I woke up.
I understood many things that the Lord was attempting to speak to me from that dream, but this week, as I was preparing for a speaking engagement, I heard the Lord say, “Look up Solomon’s Porch. You will see an illustration of the porch that you saw in your dream.”
Solomon’s porch was a magnificent colonnade which Josephus tells us was the only part of Solomon’s temple that survived after the attack by Nebuchadnezzar.
Jesus frequented Solomon’s Porch. In John 10:23 -25, the Word tells us that Jesus was there during the Feast of Dedication. This feast celebrated the time when the temple was rededicated after Antiochus desecrated it by sacrificing a pig on the altar. During that feast, a great miracle had occurred. The oil that should have only lasted one day, burned the entire eight days of the feast. When our lives are given over to Jesus, and we continually dwell in His presence, there will always be an abundant flow of the oil of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
On this occasion when Jesus was at Solomon’s porch, the people said, “How long do you make us doubt? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.” (John 10:24)
Jesus’ answer was amazing. “I told you, and you did not believe. The works that I do in My Father’s name, they bear witness of Me.” (John 10:25) It was on this porch, that Jesus linked His identity to miracles. Jesus is THE Son of God. We are sons of God. We need to earnestly desire to have the same confession that Jesus had. We should desire that miracles bear witness of who WE are – sons of God, with His DNA, His nature, and His mission on this earth.
The disciples met on Solomon’s Porch after Jesus death. Acts 5:12 tells us, “And many miracles and wonders were done among the people by the hands of the apostles; and they were all with one accord on Solomon’s Porch.” Again, there was a connection between Solomon’s Porch and miracles.
After Solomon built this magnificent temple, he sacrificed an abundance of animals to the Lord before the porch.( II Chronicles 8:12) The glory fell so heavily that the priests could not stand to minister. We do not need to offer animals to the Lord, but instead our sacrifices are the fruit of our lips giving Him praise and honor.
This porch was, and is, a place where God is honored above all. He is honored above our businesses and our social life. Love and intimacy with God abounds here. He is the FOCUS. When Jesus is the focus, faith arises and miracles flow.
Remember, also, that YOU are the temple. You are a walking, talking temple of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit lives in you. Solomon’s Porch is in you. You carry miracles on the inside of you. As you focus on Jesus as the Healer inside of you, you will bring healing to those who need it.
The River and the Trees
In my dream, I needed to walk through a river to get to the porch area. Ezekial 47 tells us about that river. The river flowed from the altar and grew larger the farther it went. Ezekial 47:11, 12 says, “…on the edge of of the torrent were very many trees…. and all the trees for food shall go up by the torrent….” Verse 12 goes on to say, “And its fruit shall be for food and the leaves for healing.”

As I was reading this, I heard the Lord say, “Stop right there. Pay attention. The fruit was for food, and the leaves were for healing. What do trees usually signify in the Bible?”
I answered, “I believe they stand for people.” I looked up passages in the Bible, and yes, trees often stand for people. One example is in Jeremiah 17:7, 8. “Blessed is the man who trusts in Jehovah, and Jehovah is his trust. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters; it sends out its roots by the river, and it shall not fear when the heat comes, but its foliage shall be green; and he is not worried in the year of drought, nor will it cease from bearing fruit.”
Of course, there are other applications to the trees in this passage, but the Lord was emphasizing to me that WE are like those trees. Our “fruit,” the fruit of the Spirit, nourishes others, and our “leaves,” carry healing to those who need it.
Even more exciting, is the truth that the river is in us! In John 7:37, 38, Jesus said, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture says, ‘Out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.’ But this He spoke about the Spirit, which they who believed in Him should receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.”
YOU are a temple for the Holy Spirit, and in YOU flows the river of the Holy Spirit. YOU are a tree that nourishes others with fruit and with leaves for healing. It is in YOU. When someone is thirsty, they can receive from the Spirit inside of you. When someone needs healing, they can receive of the healing power of God that is inside of you. When the Holy Spirit is permitted to flow, healing will flow as well.
Facilitating the Flow
When in your corporate gatherings, FOCUS on Jesus. Allow Him to be the center of your meetings, your life, and your attention. As we see Him as He is – Savior, Healer, Deliverer – all that He is will freely flow.
In your ministry to others, FOCUS on Jesus. As you focus on Him, the river will flow from you to others. Jesus healed everyone, and He is inside of you. When you focus on yourself and your abilities, you block the flow. Focus on Him.
When you need to receive healing, FOCUS on Jesus. He healed everyone, and He has not changed one bit. He did not turn anyone away for any reason when He was on earth. His nature is to heal. When you touch Him, healing flows, as when the woman with the issue of blood touched Jesus.
Several months ago, I was ministering in a church in Texas. On Friday evening, many miracles were happening, and I encouraged the people to speak healing along with me into people’s lives. As I prayed for those needing healing, I would say, “Everyone say this with me: ‘By His stripes, she/he is healed.'” I did not know until the next morning what the Lord did for one man who was declaring healing for others along with me.
The next morning, a man said to me, “When you have a free moment, may I tell you something?”
“Sure,” I answered.
At break, he said, “Last night, as I was declaring healing with you, I noticed that the pain in the lower part of my body was fading away.” He went on to say, “By the time the service was over, it was all gone. This morning was the first time in fifty-two years that I have awoken without pain or stiffness.”
I said, “How many years????”
He repeated, “Fifty-two years. I developed arthritis fifty-two years ago, but it is gone!”
This man focused on Jesus and what Jesus had done for him. He did not focus on himself, his pain, or his ability to receive. He focused on Jesus, and Jesus healed him there. No one prayed for him. In the presence of God, the disease simply left.
Lord, as each person reads this, cause Your power to go through them and drive out all disease and pain. In Jesus’ name, sickness, disease, and pain, YOU GO NOW. In the mighty name of Jesus, amen
