Beauty from Brokenness
The first act of wonder from God was bringing light into the darkness.
“And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness” Genesis 1:3-4
After The Lord came and revealed himself to me and spoke beauty into my life, my life took an unexpected turn. My heart was broken from a series of betrayals from people I love with all my heart. The betrayals caused me to run right into to Gods arms. I would cry myself to sleep and envision that he was holding me. He was my refuge, he was my safe place. It didn’t make sense why I was hated and accused wrongly. So I stayed there, in my secret hiding place with Jesus for years.
In a dream one night he showed me a spirit of infirmity coming to my door. He wanted to curse me. But when I opened the door, the spirit was forcefully thrown against a brick wall and he ran away. A tow truck came and took away his car and I heard God say, “You will never have it again”. In my inner man, I new that the spirit ran away because of Gods beauty reflecting on me and the curse was removed forever.
Later as I chewed this message, I knew it was not a physical beauty, but it was the light of Jesus shining through me. Through my deep brokenness, the Glory Light of Jesus became my light.
I had to contend for my freedom with my faith. The road of brokenness was long and hard. In a strange way, I even started to find comfort in my pain. Crying became my new habit. However I think what I really loved was being held by Jesus everyday, he held me through my pain. I looked for only him. He was all I wanted. He became my everything. Jesus is close to the broken.
“The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” Psalm 34:18.

It was the closeness of Jesus that brought his light (his beauty) to me. In worship I saw myself dancing and holding a baby. The baby was my promise from God. Then Jesus came in, covered in such radiant light. He took my baby from me and held it up. The baby became full of the Glory Light of Jesus. He brought his light to the promise and it was alive. I danced around Jesus as he held my baby. I noticed that I was also full of his light.
The brokenness that was caused by works of darkness was the very tool that God used to fulfill his purpose for me. Gods light broke off the darkness and separated the light from the darkness.
When seasons of pain and suffering come, we may wonder where God is. God may feel so far away, but he is actually closer than you have ever known. You are in the shadow of his presence. He is filling you with his light, with his beauty.
The brokenness is what brings beauty. Indeed, no weapon formed against you will prosper. God uses all things and turns them for our good. What the enemy intended to hurt me, was what God used to strengthen me. The enemy thought I would grow cold and bitter. He underestimated Gods love for me and my love for God. Nothing can separate us from Gods love.
To the hearts that are hurting and in pain, I encourage you to close your eyes and see his arms around you. Know that this pain is sowing seeds of beauty. From dust and ashes to beauty and light.
“All Pain will end……”
