Bee Hive or Hornet’s Nest: I am revealing the HEART of the matter before 2018! A Word by Stephen Lewis and Andy Sanders

Bee hives and hornets nests come in many shapes and sizes, just like our church buildings and ministries. At the end of the day, what matters most isn’t the size, but the sustenance of what we are producing. Our lives will be measured by what we reproduce for the kingdom of heaven and not how large our ministries can grow. God prefers quality over quantity. Let’s take a look at both the hornets’ nest and the bee hive.

The hornet:

You will find many species of hornets around the world but I am referring to the ones who form nests right around your homes. The hornet is a well-designed predator that sometimes feeds off of insects in order to take care of its own. Compared to the honey bee, their ability to cross-pollinate plants that produce are a bare minimum because the hornet has less hairs on its body. Though every creature on earth has a benefit and meaning, hornets, can be miniature tyrants. Why? They are self-absorbed! So much so, that most of the time, you won’t even know they are there until you find a nest hanging around. If they find you first, you can be in very serious trouble.

Have you ever walked around your home and found a large hornets nest attached to it, that you didn’t even realize was there? Some churches are the same way, they just exist and no one even knows they are there because they are not impacting anything, anyone, or any place. Some are like a wasp nest they are full of individuals who just want to attack anyone who agitates them or does not believe in exactly what they do.

The honey bee:

The honey bee on the other hand is a pollinator; they are designed to assist in producing every time they land on plants and this is because the honey bee carries the very substance that will allow that plant to produce life from within. Unlike the hornet, the honey bee has many little hairs all over its body, making it easy to collect pollen. The bee produces honey, wax and some scientist even suggest that these little bees help pollinate over 30% of all food on the earth today. It is believed that without the honey bees we would all eventually starve. They impact the lives of millions on this earth. Along with many other benefits, natural/local honey carries nutrients to fight against allergies, sore throats, and other sicknesses.

Hornets or Honey Bees?

The crowd rebuked them and told them to be quiet, but they shouted all the louder, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!” Jesus stopped and called them. “What do you want me to do for you?” he asked. “Lord,” they answered, “we want our sight.”  Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes. Immediately they received their sight and followed him. Matthew 20: 31-33 NIV

If you have been in the church world long enough, you have encountered both the sting of the hornet and the sweet taste of honey that comes from the honey bee. As Christians, we are called to produce life (honey) abundantly! Notice the difference between the reactions to the crowd the bind individuals were in verses the reaction to what Jesus did for them? The crowd rebuked them, caring little about their needs; Jesus healed them, meeting them right where they were in need the most: being able to see the Son of God for the very first time. Our gatherings (and lives) must reflect helping people meet their needs, thus helping others see Jesus for the first, or thousandths time. This is how we reproduce within our surroundings. Like honey bees, we are called to impact the lives of others all around the world, sharing the love of Jesus Christ. Like bees, we must get out of our nest (church buildings) and pollinate the world as Jesus did through sharing the Good News, touching the lives of all the hurting, praying for those who need prayer, visiting the elderly, and feeding the hungry. It isn’t the size of the church that counts; rather, it is the ability to reproduce Jesus with no religious strings attached. When we reproduce, we act like honey bees: fruitful, productive, and valuable to that which is around us.

A 2017 Inventory is Upon the Body of Christ

For the remaining of this year, many will go into a “soul searching” phase that will be both corporal (churches and ministries) and personal (relationships with God, family and others). During this time, the body of Christ will be purged of the “hornet areas” that have crept into our systems, words, thought life, and attitudes. And, we will be realigned, adjusted, along with our focus being shifted in order to produce life to every person that we come into contact with. The days are over now where we can live, act, speak, and be what we want; self-absorbed like the hornets. He is calling us, the body of Christ, to a greater walk with Him; a deeper relationship that will produce a greater level of His love, power, and presence (honey) within the community market places. He is calling our churches and ministries to step out of our cathedrals/fortresses and go find those that will no longer step foot into our churches.

The Lord is pulling the remnant (honey bees) out from among the religious systems (hornets’ nest) of our time. During remaining parts of this year, God will expose internal agendas that are not of Him. Are we really working in the kingdom for Him, or are we building our own monuments in the name of church ministry? A pure, mighty remnant is coming on the scene in 2018. We are being prepared for genuine presence and real sustenance. The world no longer wants to taste tainted “church religion” honey; they want the real, raw nectar from heaven. This is what you were designed to carry!

Call Forth Your Lazarus!

A Word by Dana Jarvis

The word of God is powerful. Nothing can stop, corner or prevent it. When God said, "Let there be light" there was light. When he spoke over Lazarus, the power of the grave could not resist his command when he said,

"Lazarus, Come Forth!"

Speak to your Lazarus to come forth. It may be dead, buried and stinking, but to him that believes, nothing shall be impossible. If Lazarus came forth, your situation can come forth, but first you must speak it forth with power. God said his word would not return void until it accomplished that which it was sent out to do.

Your situation may be powerful, but the Word of God is more powerful. The Word of God is sharper than any two edged sword. When His Word goes forth it healed and delivered. It accomplished the mission for which it was sent to do.

Jesus said, "I Am the Resurrection and the Life!" The Resurrection is standing with you right now. He is giving you peace in the midst of your turbulence. He will calm you in the midst of pressures that threaten to swallow you. The King is with you, dry bones can live again. Tell everything dead and stinking in your life to come forth today. Speak to your Lazarus!
