Cacophony of the Symphony – A Word by Amie Rogers

Cacophony: a harsh discordant mixture of sounds (Google dictionary)

 

The Lord woke me one morning talking about His symphony. As I dialogued with Him, He reminded me of a game I would play as a child in order to bring this revelation and encouragement to articulation. 

 

As a young girl I loved listening to orchestra music. I would play a game by closing my eyes and with my ears, I would hone in on one instrument. As I would intently listen, the game was to name the instrument playing. Some were very obvious and easy; some were not. How could I tell if it was a violin playing low notes versus a cello playing high ones within the music? Was it a flute or a piccolo? Was it a soprano saxophone or an alto? And the list goes on. 

 

I loved hearing every single part and would swim in the melody and harmonies; all the many different parts in this one big symphony telling a story. For me, it was an adventure to hear all the quietness and crescendos playing on my emotions and lighting up my music-loving spirit. 

 

This game I played is exactly what we are all to be doing in this hour – intently listening in to God’s melody; His instrument!

 

THE CACOPHONY OF YOUR INSTRUMENT

 

I heard the Lord saying, “I know you have had a hard time playing. You have been feeling as though you’ve forgotten how to play, feeling as though your instrument is beyond repair and the music set before you has been blown around and illegible. I Am bringing a quiet and a peace to your internal and external cacophony right now! I Am bringing a clarity to your ears so you can pinpoint My voice and My sound, in the midst of the dissonance swirling around you. Keep listening intently and you will hear!

 

Declare now, “Peace be still!” and as that stillness washes over you, you will find the strength to pick up your instrument. You will see and know the music before you and hear the melody within you. It’s a new sound and a new song for you, My child! Trust Me as I conduct you and your tempo will be in time with Heaven’s. Trust as I lead and you will play once again.”

 

THE SYMPHONY OF THE CHURCH

 

As the Lord was speaking about our individual instruments, I began to hear the entire symphony of His church. I sat and listened but as it grew louder and louder, it was extremely difficult to hear. The difficulty was not in the volume but in that every instrument was doing its own thing and playing not with but over all the others.

 

“If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.” 1 Cor. 13:1 (NIV)

 

The Lord says, “My symphony is a cacophony! My church is singing and speaking but they’re all on their own song! There are many sections of this symphony where some are playing the same song but then the page gets turned and things begin to fall apart. The tempos are off and the keys have changed! I Am declaring the cacophony of My symphony to cease! 

 

The crescendo of intercession is the sound I Am listening to! The swelling sound of intercession and praise is what is moving My Spirit and My Hand. The notes to be played are not on the music pages set before you but by the songs set within you. The ones I wrote and placed within you before you were born! Now is the set time for you to play! Let your instruments echo throughout the atmospheres and into the Heavenlies! Oh Judah! Oh My watchmen on the wall! You are the bugle call, trumpeting in the procession of a booming crescendo; a crescendo of My Salvation sweeping up and over the lands like a tidal wave! This tidal wave is one of My Covenant restoration and an awakening – like a splash of water to your faces. You are about to see and hear what you have only tried to imagine! I Am placing NEW instruments into My symphony! Pay attention to their melodies and harmonies because as you intentionally listen, they will awaken new sounds planted within you to play along. The sound of My symphony is what all of creation will be hearing! Play! Play! Play!”

 

“The entire universe is standing on tiptoe, yearning to see the unveiling of God’s glorious sons and daughters!” Romans 8:19 (TPT)

 

If we truly desire for our sound to shift atmospheres, we need to come to the realization that those sounds come from the exact places we are residing. It doesn’t wait to come once you have reached a certain place or pinnacle in your life nor a microphone in your hand. The purest sounds come from our depths. 

 

Many of David’s praises came in the lonely fields and caves in his life. Paul and Silas (Acts 16:16-40) shared their intercession and praises AFTER they had been flogged and thrown into jail! They chose to not look at their pain and circumstances but to look to the One that held them in their true freedom. They were grateful for their circumstances because they had just set one girl free from demonic oppression! That was something to be celebrated! They continued that celebration in their bleeding and shackled bodies within the darkest jail cell imaginable and look what the Lord did with that! Suddenly, all those chained in that jail with them not only heard their prayers and praise, but also experienced an earthly freedom – their chains were loosed and the locked doors flung open! YET, the power of that prayer and praise held those people captive; they didn’t run out of their cells! They remained held in the Glory of God! Don’t tell me our prisons are worthless! Don’t tell me those dark places will forever be dark! No! Miracles happen in those places! Freedom comes in those places! You may be chained to circumstances and situations but your chains will be loosed and those doors flung open in miraculous ways when you just reside in His presence and in your praise!

 

What if the story of our lives that is talked about the most is the sound our praises in our prisons and not the peaks and pinnacles we’ve been dreaming of? What if we truly threw off our worldly views of accomplishment and purely sought the Lord for His “success plan” for this life we’ve been given? If we truly embrace Kingdom vision, it will rarely look like our earthly dreams. Let Him write the symphony over our lives. His sounds so much better than anything we can dream of, ask for or imagine.

 

“For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ my dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge – that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

 

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. Eph. 3:14-21 (NIV)
