Calling the builders: Noah’s, Solomon’s and John’s – A Word by Charissa Steffens

Recently the Lord began to speak to me about His builders. These are the ones that God has chosen and planted within them a desire to build in the new season for Him. These are ones that have walked with the Lord and sought His desires for His Kingdom.

They have put God first as it says in Matthew 6:33 “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” (ESV) This is a season of added to them what they need.

They have faced opposition and held true to what God has instilled in them. They have a strong sense of God’s call upon their life and know that the Father’s hand is at work to build and establish with them.

These are ones who have chosen obedience and sacrifice, they live in the Fear of the Lord. Understanding and walking in Proverbs 1:7 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge”. They seek God’s heart in every area and because their hearts have been aligned with God’s words and ways. He has planted in them the seeds that are beginning to germinate in this season.

The Holy Spirit is releasing the revelations and the resources in this season to begin to build what he has planted. In particular He highlighted these three areas to me:

The Noah’s – those who are called to build the arks

In Genesis 6 we see that God called Noah to build an ark of salvation. Likewise there are people that God is calling to build ministries for salvation. The great harvest is ready and God is calling His harvesters to prepare for the salvation of humanity. Jesus declared in John 4:35 “Don’t you have a saying, ‘It’s still four months until harvest’? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.” What God is beginning will require a mass of new arks.

God gave Noah the perfect plans to ensure the vessel would withstand the flood and He explained how He wanted it used (Genesis 6:14-21). He made sure that Noah had every resource that was needed even down to sending the animals to Him.

When God moves sovereignly, He ensures that everything is available to complete His decree. Don’t fear the magnitude of the dream He has placed in you, understand that the ark He is asking you to build is essential. Follow Noah’s lead and “do everything just as God commanded him.” (Gen 6:22) Know that the Lord will “shut you in” (Gen 7:16) and keep you safe as you walk in obedience to him in this building season.

The Solomon’s – those who are called to build the people

Solomon was also one who was called to build with people. I Kings 3:3 tells us that he loved the Lord and walked according to the instructions given him by his father David. He encountered God in a dream and he asked God for wisdom to lead the people that had been entrusted to him. In humility and fear, he sought God’s help to govern the nation of

Israel with discernment and justice and he acknowledged that they were God’s people not his own.

Likewise, the Lord is raising up his Solomon’s, those He has called to govern His people. They may have found themselves in a leadership intentionally or unintentionally. They are ones that walk in humility and with the fear of the Lord. One of the crucial keys for these ones is that they acknowledge that the people they are appointed to rule over are the Lord’s inheritance, not their own. They must steward their role by seeking His wisdom and discernment as they lead people.

Two areas that God dearly delights in, as Mark 12:30-31 reminds us, is to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’[a] 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] There is no commandment greater than these.” (NIV)

As these Solomon’s walk in obedience (1 Kings 3:14) and keep God’s word, they will find the blessings of God, just as Solomon did. They will receive wealth, honour and a long life because they have honoured the Lord and his people.

The John’s – those who are called to build in the wilderness

John was one who did not fit in but stood out. He was lead out into the wilderness away from the religious structures and establishments of his time to declare a new message of ancient significance, “Repent for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”(Matthew 3:2) John’s mission was to till the soil of hearts in preparation for Jesus. He knew and valued the message of repentance, understanding the power of surrender to the Holiness of God. He was unafraid of what others thought and held fast to the message that burned in Him like any biblical prophet

Likewise, God has called some out of establishments and environments where they were limited, or not accepted, and He is giving them the freedom of the wilderness to preach the gospel. These are burning ones. They ones who carry God’s message that cannot be stopped for this season. God will draw to them those people who need to hear the message He has given them. John 3:5 records that people went out to hear John from the entire region. There is an anointing on these ones to reach the people a different way.

Be steadfast in your mission, maintain your message, and watch what God will do as your heart burns for God and for His children.

Move forward into what God has for you, the season of delay is over and God is calling you to step into the new season and begin to build.
