Distracted from their Destiny
Luke 9:62: But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”
I have had a message burning in my spirit for the last year about people being distracted from their destiny. I believe the time for this word to come forth couldn’t be better. We live in a day where children are being beheaded in the name of Allah, drug overdoses are paramount and celebrities are killing themselves because they are overcome by depression and a spirit of death. I guess their fame and fortune wasn’t enough.
We live in a day where people are living running around casting off all restraint because they don’t have a vision for their life. So many people are lost and they are heading on a highway to hell because they don’t know Jesus. Many profess to be Christians but this generation acknowledges Jesus with their lips but denies Him with the way they live their lives.
Christians run around bound by fear and poverty thinking that the devil is out to destroy them. The devil isn’t looking to destroy you. He is just looking to distract you. Millions view pornography. 4 out of 5 men and woman have participated in extra marital affairs. Over 72 million babies have been aborted since abortion was legalized. School shootings occur every single year. Not even our government is safe.
Our president promises us hope and change. Where where is this change he is talking about? Why do we look to the government to fix our issues? Why are their hundreds of homeless people living in tents? Why are thousands of children going to bed hungry every night?
While most of us continue to accumulate things that we can’t even take with us to heaven. We place our value in our flat screen TV’s, our nice BMW’s and Mercedes, and our 5 bedroom homes. We are focused on one thing. Ourselves. We are narcissistic. The anthem of this generation has become “It’s all about me.” Yet millions die and are heading to hell. The church has become complacent. We fight about carpet colors, and church plants. While hundreds continue “church shopping” refusing to commit to a body and serve because they don’t like the music because it’s too loud. Since when did the worship become about you?

Pastors are complacent because they don’t want to lose their biggest tithers. They are puppets in the hands of their boards instead of rising up and calling sin what it is and preaching God’s truth. It nauseates me. The body has itching ears… only wanting to tune into feel good messages. As if punching in your Sunday morning attendance card and throwing money into the offering plate is going to make you fulfill your destiny. Ha!
You are distracted! You are not living where God has called you! You are complacent. Many are living powerless lives. You can’t be free because you don’t want to wait on the presence of Jesus until He frees you. You don’t really understand grace because if you did, you would love God and it would show! He spells it out… if you love Me obey my commandments (John 14:15).
Who are you fooling? Who are you trying to impress? Do you think God doesn’t see everything? Stop trying to fix your life. Stop trying to fix your behavior. What needs to change is your heart!
Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the LORD your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity. -Joel 2:13
We must stop blaming others and complaining about life. Your life is what you have made it. You are reaping what you have sown. Start sowing differently if you want a better harvest.
What has God called you to do? When are you going to respond? When are you going to stop making excuses and step into your destiny and change the world?
Stop talking about it. Stop praying for it or praying about it. Be the move of God this world needs to see.
