Do It Again, Lord! – A Word by Peggy Morris

“Do it again, Lord! Save us, O Lord, our God! Gather us from our exile and unite us together so that we will give our great and joyous thanks to you again and bring You glory by our praises. Psalm 106:47 TPT

When the Lord brought the children of Israel out of Egypt it was the beginning of a whole “new thing”, a whole new way of life.

God had sent ten plagues on Egypt. In John 10:10 we see the evil intent of the enemy to “kill, steal, and destroy”, and that is exactly what happened to the children of Israel. After 430 years of bondage to Egypt, God delivered them “to experience life, freedom, and satisfaction.” John 10:9 “He came to give them everything in abundance, more than they expected—life in its fullness until they overflowed!” John 10:10 TPT

The tenth plague came with very specific instructions for them to follow. Instructions that would protect them through the Lord’s Passover and provide for their future.

“Speak so that all of the people (of Israel) may hear, and tell every man to ask from his neighbor, and every woman to ask from her neighbor, articles of silver, and articles of gold.” Exodus 11:2 AMP For “the wealth of the wicked is reserved for the righteous.” Proverbs 13:22

They were instructed to take a lamb or goat for themselves, perfect without blemish or bodily defect, a one year old male; and as a whole assembly of the congregation of Israel to slaughter it at twilight and take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel (above the door) of their houses. They were to eat all the meat that same night, roasted in the fire with unleavened bread and bitter herbs. In addition they were to eat their meal in full preparation for a journey, ready to leave at any given moment.  (taken from Exodus 12)

Then He led them out with “very great and precious promises”. 2 Peter 1:4

“But not even a dog will threaten any of the Israelites, whether man or animal, so that you may know (without any doubt) and acknowledge how the Lord makes a distinction between Egypt and Israel.” Exodus 11:7AMP

Distinction: “a difference or contrast between similar things or people; excellence that sets someone or something apart from others; importance, significance, prominence, honor, prestige and status.” (Definition from Oxford language)

He also brought them out with silver and gold, and there was none feeble among His tribes. Psalm 105:37 NKJ

Feeble: “lacking physical strength, especially as a result of age or illness; weak, frail, infirm, sickly, ailing, unwell, helpless, powerless, debilitated, incapacitated, trembling.” (definitions from Oxford Languages) Feeble also means; “lacking strength of character; cowardly, faint-hearted, spineless, timid, fearful, soft, weak, ineffective, inadequate, among many other adjectives.” (definitions from Oxford Languages)

Many have spent these past few months in reflection and repentance. But so many more have been in this state for the past several years. The Lord has been doing such a deep, deep cleansing in those who are willing to open themselves up, empty themselves and pour themselves out. He has been doing a close examination of our hearts and the strongholds and mindsets that have weighed us down for so long. Teaching us to “cast down vain imaginations.”  It has been a time of the “two-edged sword that penetrates to the very core of our being where soul and spirit, bone and morrow meet! It interprets and reveals the true thoughts and secret motives of our hearts.” Hebrews 4:12-13 TPT

When Jesus was at the wedding in Cana, He turned the water into wine. (John 2)

He chose earthen vessels to hold the new wine. There were “six” empty water pots; the number six is associated with “man”. The water pots “were used for the Jewish washing rituals.” The pots had to be empty to receive the “new wine”. Everything that had previously been in the pots had to be gone, or there would not be room for the new wine that they were to hold. There was also the risk that if there was anything left in the pots that it could contaminate the new.

We are like common clay jars that carry this glorious treasure within, so that the extraordinary overflow of power will be seen as God’s, not ours. Though we experience every kind of pressure, we’re not crushed. At Times we don’t know what to do, but quitting is not an option. 2 Corinthians 4:7-8 TPT

The bride is being made ready. (Rev. 19:7) and we cannot afford to be feeble in any way! Jesus has been giving us specific instructions, preparing us and beckoning us to come up higher. There has been such urgency and seriousness coming from the Lord “to not be hasty to go from His presence!” (Ecclesiastes 8:1) It is in His presence that we are being made new and being equipped. We must “always be ready, alert, and prepared, because at an hour when you’re not expecting Him, the Son of Man will come.” Matthew 24:42 TPT Just like the five “wise and sensible” virgins that were ready when the Bridegroom came. (Matthew 25: 4) We are to live like the Israelites that ate their meal in full preparation for a journey, ready to leave at any given moment.

Don’t resist the process of purification and preparation that Jesus is leading us through and don’t forsake the secret place with the Lord! “All that He does in us is designed to make us a mature church for His pleasure, until we become a source of praise to Him-glorious and radiant, beautiful and holy, without fault or flaw.” (Ephesians 5:27)

I believe that we are in an Exodus time where the Lord is bringing us out of bondage, way beyond what we even realize. He is giving specific instructions to His children to protect us and provide for our future. He is leading us out with “very great and precious promises” and making a distinction between His kids and the world. There will not be any feeble among God’s children, physical or emotionally. We will “have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows”). (AMP) O God, please come and save us again; bring us Your breakthrough—victory! Psalm 118:25 TPT

He is saving the best for last!

Now, Lord, do it again! Restore us to our former glory! May streams of your refreshing flow over us until our dry hearts are drenched again. Psalm 126: 4 TPT

Let us see Your miracles again, and let the rising generation see the glorious wonders You’re famous for. Psalm 90:16 TPT
