God is Awakening Dreams
A Word by Dr. Pam Morrison

God is speaking through many dreams right now.

This morning I woke up with a brief dream, but I feel that it is a word of hope for us.

In the dream, I was pushing a shopping cart that was filled up. The items in the cart were things I had collected to give away in light of the many needs people have right now.

I passed by two men sitting together. One of them was a well-known tv personality who is both a commentator and a comedy personality. The other was a pastor-missionary that I know who is now in South America.

As I walked by them, at first, they only greeted me and didn’t stop me, but as I passed by, they said, “Come back,” and began to go through the cart with great interest, like they might pick things out to use.

I had several feelings – I didn’t want my supply to be lessened. I felt the things in the cart were too humble for their interest. At the same time, I did want to share with them.

That part of the dream faded and just before I woke up, I felt my husband give me a great hug of warmth, affection, and tenderness. The sensation was of being deeply loved and then I woke up.

I feel the Lord is saying three things through this dream about the season we are in.

  • Collaboration. This is a season of unusual collaborations. In the dream the two men were sitting together like partners, but they also drew me in.

The men represent the areas of the media, arts, and entertainment, and religion. I feel God is saying that in this time, though a hard season of disease, financial loss, and other challenges, it is also a time when you will see and participate in collaborations that will bring life and relief to many. Do not be afraid to generously share with others.

We already see how many believers are sharing faith, worship services, words of hope, teachings, etc. through social media and many online venues, but it is more than that.

People that would have been hard to collaborate with before will be available and open. Where you may have felt doors closed in the past through misunderstanding, disinterest, or just no connection, the doors are opening. In this crisis and after it, you will have a chance to share your gifts. Take risks.

If you have been turned down or turned away, try again. Do not be afraid to explore new partnerships. This is the time for these opportunities to bear fruit for the good of so many.

You may have felt that what you have to offer has not been enough or of value, but you will see this is changing. What you have to offer is wanted, needed, and will be sought out.

  • Creativity. God is saying that this is a time for creativity to blossom in an extraordinary way. This is a time for spreading your wings in trying new things in new ways.

As the men searched through the shopping cart in the dream to see how they could use what I was carrying in that cart, so this is the time for allowing God to stir us in how to do things in new ways, how to put something intended for one use to another use.

It is a time for us to be inventive, not cautiously doing the “same old, same old.” It is a time for ingenuity. The crisis of disease, our enemy, will cause us to sing a new song as God works in us and stirs new ideas.

  • Covenant. This is a time for the recalling of who we belong to, how He feels about us, and what He will accomplish through and for us. This was the message through the embrace that ended the dream.

“For your Maker is your husband, the LORD Almighty is his name – the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth.” Isaiah 54:5

And Jesus, of course, being referred to by others and by Himself as the Bridegroom continued this message of intimate love with us and pointed to His identity as God the Son.

The help to collaborate and be creative, to come out of this time of peril with far more than we went in is due to our God who faithfully loves us. Our attention on Him, without distraction, is bringing forth new life even in the face of a dangerous illness and the loss of life attendant with it.

As a people who love and trust in Him, He is bringing forth this fruit as we stay laser focused on Him. “I am the Vine and you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5
