As I have been sitting with the Lord the past few days I keep hearing the phrase, “I’m Rallying the Troops.” As I pray into this, I am sensing God is getting his people ready for a glorious time of encounter and harvesting on the earth.
“Rallying the Troops” is a military term used to prepare a group of people for action. It is something that is done before a great battle or encounter to prepare and organize. God has something big on the horizon and He is getting His army ready. Are you ready? “Rallying the Troops” often involves a “Pep Talk” to boost moral, empower, give direction and create unity. Let’s look at each of these so that we can better understand what is on the heart of God.
(l) Boost Moral: The Body of Christ has been through so much over the past few years. Many are weary and discouraged. God is bringing us to a place of rest and restoration at this time. He is reaching out to you! All you need to do is step into his embrace as he strengthens you and loves on you.
(2) Empower: God wants to fill you afresh with His power so that you can fulfill the new assignments he will be giving you. This is the time to yield to the prompting of the Holy Spirit to surrender. Make yourself vulnerable to God to touch you with his fire and experience Him in a way you never have before. In Acts 1:8, Jesus tells his disciples that power will be coming to them. This is not a once and done thing. As we need a fresh encounter with God to fulfill our mission, God gives it to us. Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Sam aria, and to the ends of the earth.” NIV
(3) Give Direction: Get ready to receive God’s marching orders! What your ministry looks like today, may look a lot different in six month. Many in the Body of Christ will be saying things like. “I never could have imagined I would be functioning in this capacity as I’m serving Jesus.” You will be awestruck at what God will be doing in you and through you as you move out in your unique gifting and calling. Psalm 37:23 says, “The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him.”NIV Delight in God and receive your marching orders with gladness and joyful anticipation!
(4) Create Unity: God is creating a new unity as believers gather around the cross and focus on what Jesus accomplished for us out of His great love for us. There is a new collaboration coming. Psalm 133:1 states, “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” NIV. The main goal will not be “how do I grow my personal ministry or church, but how can I position myself and my ministry/church to be used to help bring in the harvest. God wants us to see each other through His eyes. A new respect for each other is coming that crosses generational, racial, gender and even geographical lines.
The five-fold ministers will be used by God to “Rally the Troops,” so it is important that those serving in leadership roles stay close to the heart of God. God will be issuing their marching orders first. God is up to something BIG and He is rallying the troops to get his goal accomplished. AMEN
