Going Through – A Word by Joe Joe Dawson
When you experience difficulty, trials, roadblocks, setbacks, and there seems to be a mountain standing in your way, go through it! Many give up too easily or immediately ask God to miraculously deliver us from whatever we are facing. However, we see all throughout the Bible, and I’ve seen this in my own life, that we grow the most when we are facing something difficult or even impossible. Instead of wanting God to always get us out, we should begin to ask for wisdom, revelation, and insight to go through whatever we are facing so that we will not just go through, but we can grow through.
If you are going through something, it is important that we learn and grow through the process. Psalm 23:4 reminds us of the temporary state of whatever we go through. Psalm 23:4 says, “Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil…” The psalmist is saying that he is not walking into death, he is just walking through the shadow of it. Whatever you are going through is just a shadow, so keep going!
This should remind us that even when things seem bad, God is still with us and He will see us through to the other side. The term “shadow of death” in Psalm 23:4 is actually referring to a graveyard or a grave. If you have ever visited a graveyard, you may have seen a grave that was being prepared for someone’s burial. However, you knew in that situation, you were not in the grave. You were just going through the graveyard. The same is true in the spirit. In hard situations and seasons you may feel like you are in the shadow of death, going through a graveyard but you are not in the grave! All you have to do is just keeping going and you will go through it, not get stuck there.
The term “shadow of death” can also be translated to mean “calamity”. You may be feel as if you are walking by calamity, but you are not in calamity because God is with you. You may think that your situation is going to destroy you and you may be questioning how you will make it through it. But, I want to challenge you, you will get through this and you will not just go through it but you will grow through it. Grow through whatever you go through. You will not just survive this situation, you will come out on the other side victorious with more wisdom and insight than you had before with a next-level anointing.
There is a champion inside of you and champions never take the easy way out. God wants to manifest the prophetic promises and prophetic destiny He has given you. Just keep growing through the process and you will get there. The process is to produce the growth you need in order to carry out what is waiting for you on the other side.
