Govern with This! – A Word by Crystal Wade

Crystal Wade
Govern from Heaven with THIS!

With our Heavenly Father, there is both simplicity and complexity.

We receive His Kingdom as a child—child-like faith and openness. Miracles are available as are answered prayers—by believing and receiving (and not giving up).

Yet, His Kingdom is quite complex. It is ruled by our Heavenly Father. It has a government which is ruled from Heaven and administered on earth. It contains courts, assemblies, ambassadors, a military and more.

It is real and it impacts earth-life, though it is not usually visible to the naked eye.

Government in Heaven and on Earth

The government of Father’s Kingdom rests on the shoulders of our Lord Jesus Christ. His is a government of peace.

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (NIV, Isaiah 9:6).

Peace is more than just a nice thought in a chaotic world—or a wish in the midst of our cares of life.

Peace is a fruit of Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).

Father sent the announcement of this peace when His Son arrived on earth.

“Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests” (NIV, Luke 2:14).

There is a physical city on this earth that is the seat of Father’s government. It is Jerusalem, the city of peace.

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May those who love you be secure” (NIV, Psalm 122:6).

Peace includes more than emotions or thoughts that stay steady. Father’s peace is His will for every one of His children, paid for by the Lord Jesus Christ, and administered by Holy Spirit contains: completeness, soundness, welfare, peace, safe and sound, peace and quiet, tranquility, contentment, prosperity (shalom, Strong’s H7965, salom, BlueLetterBIble.org).

Peace is the place where we hear what Father is saying. His directions are critical for us to maintain and increase in abundant life on this earth which is in the midst of battle.

When physical Jerusalem is in difficulties—such as 1. international pressure to divide her land and/or 2. times that have impacted her with such suffering through the generations such as the Dire Straits (this year July 16-August 7)—there is greater need: 1. to do what it takes to maintain your personal peace and 2. pray for Jerusalem’s peace.

Outside

Dear friends, the best thing we can do every day, and especially during these crucial three weeks, is to take the time to meet with our Heavenly Father in prayer, worship and His Word—remembering His faithfulness, keeping our peace and praying for the peace of Jerusalem.

Please note that, while this seems simple, it is often not easy at all—because there is resistance on the earth, in us, and in our homes and families that work to keep us separated from the love and peace of our Heavenly Father.

We are a restraining force in the earth—as well as an advancing Kingdom.

Situations that seem to arise from nowhere and devour time and energy, and endless responsibilities are often “peace stealers” wrapped in everyday packaging.

Inside

As we purpose to come to Father and meet with Him to receive that infusion of His peace and love that must be replenished because of life’s constant drain, there is another obstacle. It can be us! We can be the obstacle! Or rather, the pain of wounds not healed and troubles of cares not spoken and released to Father are the obstacle.

When you meet with Him, take some time to sort out the conflict you may feel and tell Him. It doesn’t have to be formal or even long. It needs to be honest.

As you take the time to express the worries, anxieties, concerns, troubles, stress, pain, etc. that you are feeling, then release them to Him, a wonderful thing happens. His presence is so real—assuring, strengthening, releasing, and filling you with peace. In that place, you receive His peace and you are building your relationship with Him. As the hymn states:

“What a Friend we have in Jesus,

All our sins and griefs to bear!

What a privilege to carry

Everything to God in prayer!

O what peace we often forfeit,

O what needless pain we bear,

All because we do not carry

Everything to God in prayer!”

(from “What a Friend We Have in Jesus,” Joseph M. Scriven, 1855).

On Earth as in Heaven

There are real obstacles to obtaining the peace infusion that we need. However, peace is crucial. It’s the place you hear Father’s voice and His guidance. It’s His government. It has a physical capital on the earth. It is a restraining force on the earth (Romans 16:20; Revelation 6:4).

Peace causes your physical health to work well. Notice where you can reduce or remove activities or even chores—take the time to nurture your peace in Father’s presence.

Peace is a governing force. Your peace and my peace and the peace of Father’s children combined are breaking open the way for Father’s Kingdom to come on earth as it is in Heaven. Yes, the very one where He crushes His enemy under our feet.

Even though there can be resistance, pressing through it to meet with Father for your peace infusion seems simple. Yet—it’s complex in a good way. You govern from Heaven through your peace which is built in Him–one choice, one prayer, one day at a time. Get your peace filled and built in Him daily. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Now is the time.
