Great Strides Will Be Made In April! – A Word by Madeline James

Over the past couple months the Lord has and continues to give me words about the winds of change, momentum, acceleration, and advancement. This is not a season to shrink back but to go forward with great faith and boldness. There is a great window of advancement open to those who will take it. We’re coming upon the season of Passover to Pentecost (March-May). During this season there is great spiritual activity. Pay attention to your dreams in this season. The Lord is releasing new assignments, new mantles, new anointings, and new divine connections. As you steward your dreams, you’ll be able to discern in the day what He has spoken to you in the night. I was heading to bed the other night and the Lord said to me, “As you step into April you’re stepping into your peak season. In this season my people will find their stride. Great strides will be made in this season.” What is a stride? The definition of stride is “the length of a step, is a good or regular rate of progress, especially after a slow or hesitant start, step or stage in progress toward an aim.” (dictionary.com). When I think of a stride, the sport of track comes to mind especially hurdles. To be successful at hurdling, you have to find a certain stride and pace in between hurdles. If something comes to break the runner’s stride, often times the runner will not be successful in clearing the hurdle. In Philippians 3:13-14 TPT the Apostle Paul gave us a picture of what that looks like in the realm of the spirit, “I don’t depend on my own strength to accomplish this; however I do have one compelling focus: I forget all of the past as I fasten my heart to the future instead. I run straight for the divine invitation of reaching the heavenly goal and gaining the victory-prize through the anointing of Jesus.”

‭‭2020 caused a great disruption or break in our strides. The Lord has used it as a reset and a recalibration to our stride. A new normal, a new pace, and a new stride has been set in this new season. Like the Apostle Paul said in Philippians in order to have the right stride, we cannot look to the past. We must fasten and fix our eyes and hearts to the future. When we stay connected and in tune with Holy Spirit we’ll always be in the right stride and pace. Galatians 5:25 ESV says, “If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.”

‭As we continue to advance in this year and step into April you’re going to “peak” in this season. Peak is an athletic term that means “to reach the highest, strongest, or best point, value, or level of skill.” (dictionary.cambridge.org). I’m familiar with this term because I was an athlete all through school and some of my college years. The coaches were purposeful in implementing their training, exercising, and resistance to us. As we grew in our training, coaches would apply more pressure. If they did it too soon in our training we would peak too early in our season and not be able to finish the season well. The coaches had to use wisdom in how much and how far to push us, so that we would be able to peak at the right time and be at our best performance for the length of the season.

In the same manner, Coach Holy Spirit has allowe over these past seasons and months to apply the right amount of pressure, and allowed the right amount of warfare to grow us. Because of that, you’re coming into your peaking season. Do not fea! You will peak at the right moment as you lean on and trust Holy Spirit. What was hard and challenging in past seasons, will come with ease and grace in this season. Your warfare has qualified you for your next. “All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing. I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified” (‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭9:25-27‬ ‭NLT‬‬).

Be encouraged in this season that you’re not beating the air shadow boxing, you’re running with purpose in every step and stride you take. You will peak in this season!
