“I Will Not Be Mocked.” – A Word spoken through Apostle Connie Kesner

Apostle Connie Kesner

Many years ago, as a young Christian, I was sitting in a service where the preacher was speaking on Ananias and Sapphira. This is the story found in Acts 5:1-11.  It’s the story of a couple in the early Church who sold a parcel of a land for a certain price and yet when they gave the money to the apostles, they told them that they were giving the whole amount to Church.  However, in advance, they decided that they would keep some of the proceeds for themselves.  This couple lied to the Holy Spirit.

Peter said to Ananias is Acts 5:3-4, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself? While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.”

The preacher that night spoke of how there would be a day in the future where this same type of thing would be experienced again in the Church.  I remember that Word resonated in my spirit.  I knew that was a true word from God.  And I have not forgotten that word.

God recently reminded me of that word while sitting in a different service many years later.  The Church will return to a time of Ananias and Sapphira.  People get up and preach, teach, prophecy, testify, sing, lead, and do all kinds of things in the Church all in the name of Jesus and knowing full well that they are secretly living a life that is avert to the things of God. Just because other people don’t know what they are doing, doesn’t make it right.  I heard the Lord clearly say, “I WILL NOT BE MOCKED.”

A word of warning to leadership who bring smiles and talk about God during a church service and yet they are knowingly living sinful lives.  There is a reverential fear that is about to fall upon the Body of Christ and the timing is closer than you think.  God will NOT be mocked.  The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, as we are told several times throughout the Bible.

We are in the beginning of the 3rd Great Awakening.  I believe signs, wonders, and miracles will be the new normal.  The lost, the unchurched, the unsaved will have such an encounter with the Lord, that cities will be changed.  Regions, will be changed.  And, nations will fall at the feet of Jesus in record numbers.  But what about the staunch folk who have been sitting in the Church for 20 or 30 years? The ones who have lost the reverential fear of the Lord.  The ones who have replaced a form of godliness, denying the power thereof?  What about those who think there’s no reason for them to change, much less repent?  Afterall, they’ve been going to church for years. They know it all.  Right?

Wrong! God says that He will not be mocked.  What is done in secret WILL BE brought to the light.  God’s glory will prevail.  Nothing will stop it.  Not even a FORM of godliness can detain Him from fulfilling His plans and purpose.

Church, it’s time to WAKE UP!  It’s time to REPENT of those things that you’ve become desensitized to and think God doesn’t mind or that you are somehow so special that God gives you a special set of rules!!  He will not be mocked.  Ananias and Sapphira thought they were getting away with something.  Instead, God held them to His standard.  Repent, before it’s too late.

Acts 5:1-11

“But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession. And he kept back part of the proceeds, his wife also being aware of it, and brought a certain part and laid it at the apostles’ feet. But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself? While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.”

5 “Then Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and breathed his last. So great fear came upon all those who heard these things. And the young men arose and wrapped him up, carried him out, and buried him.”

7 “Now it was about three hours later when his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. And Peter answered her, “Tell me whether you sold the land for so much?”

She said, “Yes, for so much.”

9 “Then Peter said to her, “How is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Look, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out.” 10 Then immediately she fell down at his feet and breathed her last. And the young men came in and found her dead, and carrying her out, buried her by her husband. 11 So great fear came upon all the church and upon all who heard these things.”

Sincerely,

Apostle Connie Kesner
