“In the Depths of Stretching” – A Word by Rebekah Kerry Hudson

Rebekah Kerry Hudson

There is a deep stretching that is taking place in sons and daughters. God is stretching us to new heights. In the stretching it creates the capacity to grow and expand. Without the stretching the enlargement can not take place, so while we are in this stretching state our faith grows, wisdom grows, and perseverance grows.

I see tent pegs and they are expanding, and while we allow this movement, it is really that we are allowing God to expand our heart to Love. For without Love you can not do nothing. Our capacity to do the will of our Father is indeed rooted in Love. Without a fervent Love for the things of God and the pursuit thereof, we are baseless sounds, unusable instruments. Let us remember Christ’s Love for us. How His love is eternal and everlasting. So in this delicate time of fine tune stretching search your heart and allow Love to fill every place. “If anyone imagines that he knows and understands anything [of divine matters, without love], he has not yet known as he ought to know. 1 Corinthians 8:2”

We can not be afraid to be stretched by the Lord. In order to hold what God has for you and I we must go into the secret place and allow God to pull on our hearts. Let our hearts be tested and refined. Let the strings of our heart play a melody. Let your yes be yes and your no be no, as my my sister always says. How true are those words. Will we say yes Lord stretch me or will hearts stay in complacency?

There is a time in every season, every pain, and every struggle that will reveal our stretching and our faith. In this time where God is telling us to build, most of the time we can’t see what lay ahead. He wants us to walk by faith and not by sight. Trusting and leaning on Him for everything.

“Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: (for we walk by faith, not by sight:)

2 Corinthians 5:6‭-‬7”

God is entrusting us with so much and He is waiting for us to jump on board, look beyond that stretch feeling, and continue the race that is before you. There are great days ahead for sons and daughters. So while we feel the tugs and pulls, even drawbacks, remember God is faithful to finish the good work inside of you, perfecting you and I each day.

“Enlarge the site of your tent [to make room for more children]; Stretch out the curtains of your dwellings, do not spare them; Lengthen your tent ropes And make your pegs (stakes) firm [in the ground]. For you will spread out to the right and to the left; And your descendants will take possession of nations And will inhabit deserted cities. “Do not fear, for you will not be put to shame, And do not feel humiliated or ashamed, for you will not be disgraced. For you will forget the shame of your youth, And you will no longer remember the disgrace of your widowhood. For your husband is your Maker, The Lord of hosts is His name; And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel, Who is called the God of the whole earth. For the Lord has called you, Like a wife who has been abandoned, grieved in spirit, And like a wife [married] in her youth when she is [later] rejected and scorned,” Says your God. “For a brief moment I abandoned you, But with great compassion and mercy I will gather you [to Myself again]. In an outburst of wrath I hid My face from you for a moment, But with everlasting kindness I will have compassion on you,” Says the Lord your Redeemer. “For this is like the waters of Noah to Me, As I swore [an oath] that the waters of Noah Would not flood the earth again; In the same way I have sworn that I will not be angry with you Nor will I rebuke you. For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, But My lovingkindness will not be removed from you, Nor will My covenant of peace be shaken,” Says the Lord who has compassion on you.Isaiah 54:2‭-‬10″
