IS THERE ROOM IN YOUR INN? By Stephen Young
“And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. 2 This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. 3 So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city. 4 Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, 5 to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. 6 So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. 7 And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.” (Luke 2:1-7, NKJV)
I wrote this a couple of years ago and have shared it for the past couple of years. While I prayed for something new today, God kept bringing me back to this. Have you made room in your “inn” this year for the greatest gift of all? I hope you are blessed and encouraged by this.
I began to think on this part of the story of the birth of Jesus. This isn’t a profound revelation, I’m sure others have taught or preached on a similar subject but this is what the Lord revealed to me. There was no room in the inn for Mary to give birth to Jesus. She ends up giving birth to him, basically, in a barn. Now, the first two things that came to mind was the fact that the birth of Jesus was a miracle, and, it was impossible to many that this was the Son of God. My first thoughts were that His days of performing miracles and doing the impossible started with His birth. He kicked off his miracle working career, day one.
As I thought more about that manger, the barn he was born in, I began to think about the conditions of that place. The word manger translates as “stall.” He was born in a stall. I can imagine that it probably wasn’t the nicest smelling, cleanest stall around. It may have even been a little messy. Yet, this was the chosen place for him to be born. Not only did he start his first day out doing the miraculous and making an impossibility a possibility, but, he started his first day on this earth, in a messy, stinky, stall.

A picture of where He still desires to reside. In the messy, stinky, stalls of our lives. That stall represents you, your life, and your heart. We mess up, we do things wrong, we sin, our lives aren’t always the most pleasant place for Jesus to reside but He chooses to anyway! He desires to reside in the messiest of the messy. Are you willing to make room? Maybe the title of this should be, “Is There Room In Your Stall?”
I’m not talking about just allowing Jesus to wipe away your sins; I’m talking about letting Him be the Lord of your life. After you’ve prayed the prayer of salvation you’re going to make some messes, I don’t care how long you’ve been a Christian. Are you willing to make room and allow Jesus to reside in the messiest parts of your life in order to clean you up and give you a purpose? Maybe there are parts of your life that you don’t want to give the Lord access to. The “Inn” parts of your life, the comfortable parts. The parts of your life that have a nice warm bed with all the amenities to make you comfortable. That’s okay, because Jesus says I want to start by residing in the messy, stinky parts of your life. Let Me clean you up, let Me set you on the right path so that you will make room for Me in your inn.
He came into this world wrapped in cloth and left this world being placed in a tomb wrapped in cloth. He came into this world because we needed a savior and He died on the cross because we needed a permanent sacrifice for our sins.
So, ask yourself that question today. Is there room in your inn, or better yet, is there room in your stall?
A TURNAROUND FOR YOU..
A word by Dana Jarvis
I decree you are making the spiritual journey from the bondage of Egypt into your promised land of destiny. I know you have grown weary. Do not let the murmurings and complaining attitudes rule you. It causes the faith to waiver! Your focus is upon the cup of bitter waters that you are currently drinking from.
Rest assured that your God is making these bitter waters sweet!
You shall taste and see that the Lord is good! You are going to see such extravagance in your daily life. He is delivering much into your hands so reach up and take hold. Just as he was with you before, he is with you now. You are going to drink deep of the Living Waters. The bitter waters of life have tried to steal all joy.
However I hear the Lord say, “It is done, I am the Lord who heals you. I am the Lord who will restore you. I am the Lord who will provide your every need. I am the One that is making the bitter waters sweet!”
I feel so strongly that God is removing your cup of bitter waters you have had to drink for so long. He is causing a turnaround for you in a situation that you desperately need him to move. I am speaking to several and know this word is for you. Even as the Lord led Moses and the children of Israel from their bondage at the Red Sea, it still took one step of faith. One step of faith is all it takes to cause a release from all of this. Take a moment and sow into good ground by giving into Spirit Fuel. For just a contribution of $25, $50, or even $100 or more given into Spirit Fuel is an active step and good ground on which to sow. It is a powerful ministry reaching the world for Christ. As you sow that offering, it is that act of faith that will cause the Red Sea where you are standing to part in your life. The bitter cup will be removed and the sweetness of the Lord shall begin to flow!
