It’s Time For Acceleration! – A Word by Peggy Jones

As I was praying recently I saw in my Spirit a gas pedal with a foot pushing aggressively down on it. I heard “this is the time to put the pedal to the metal because it is a time of acceleration.” For many who have felt they were idling in park, watching all the traffic go by, I believe God is saying, “this is your time.” The words I heard were, “grab hold of an Acceleration Mindset.” Many in the Body of Christ have taken on a relaxed, wait and see approach to achieving the Promises of God on their behalf. It has happened even subconsciously and most are unaware of the shift in their thinking. They have become worn out trying to hold on to hope that their destiny would be fulfilled in their lifetime. It is strategy of the enemy that was used in Daniel 7:25 “And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High.”

We live in a world of constant attacks against God and God’s people. It can seem as if we are in constant battle mode. This can wear us out and bring us to a place of confusion and weariness. It can happen to the best of Saints. Look at Elijah in l Kings 19:3-5. Elijah was afraid and ran for his life. When he came to Beersheba in Judah, he left his servant there, while he himself went a day’s journey into the desert. He came to a broom tree, sat down under it and prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, Lord,” he said. “Take my life; I am no better than my ancestors. Then he lay down under the tree and fell asleep.” This was after a great victory over the prophets of Baal. I wonder if Elijah was conscience of the shift in his mindset. The enemy can be very subtle in the way he attacks our minds. But listen to what the Lord says in his Word to us. “Psalms 46:1-3 “God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea. Though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.”

One loved by God, this is not the time to become weary or worn out as you serve Jesus. It is not the time to put on the breaks and give up on your dreams. It is the time to shift ino an “acceleration mindset.” As you place your foot on the gas pedal, God’s angels are there to help you. God wants to remind you that you are not alone and that you are not forgotten. God’s plans and purposes for you will happen, don’t lose faith now! There may have been what seems to be set backs in the last season but things are moving fast now. Fasten your seat belt and hold on, God is moving us quickly into new adventures on a glorious road trip. New connections will be made as divine appointments have already been set up for you.

God is breathing new life into old dreams and stirring up the desires of your heart once again. This is the time to proclaim the promise found in Psalm 37:4, “Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart!” Acceleration is the opposite of sitting still so when God gives you the unction to do something be ready for the signal to move out. This is not the time for procrastination. It’s the time to give our hearts totally over to God and surrender to Him, be opened to the empowerment of the Holy Spirit and say “YES Lord, I’m ready, I have my foot on the gas pedal, as I receive your direction, I will Go!” It’s time for acceleration!
