Julie Price: Word of the Week (August 21-27, 2016) Staying Present In Your Process
For some time now, the Lord has been speaking to His people about the season of aligning, realigning, recalibrating, shifting, destiny, great change and more! This week, the Lord has been highlighting to me the importance of staying present in your process. While it’s important to have goals, dreams, and visions of the future you are aiming for, it’s just as important to stay present in your process.
There’s so much to learn and appreciate in every season of life. While we may be longing for what the expected end to a process may look like, we must not rush it or lose sight of what God is doing in the midst of the process we are presently in. This can be harder for some than others. If you are a visionary, you are very focused on the end result of what can or will be. This can make it harder for you to stay present in your process and appreciate what God is doing in you at that moment. But God is a God of patience, detail, and relevance. There is no part of your process that is not extremely important to the Lord. So many times I have been ready to storm the gates for God, but He wasn’t. Had He let me out any sooner, I would have fallen flat on my face, because God was still doing a deep work in me to get me ready.
~There’s a process to embrace on the way to your destination.~
You need to stay present in this part of your process. God is working on things in you that really matter to Him, so embrace it and work with God in the areas He is pointing to. We must be rooted and grounded in Him and His love. God sees each of us as the unique individuals that we are, because He made us that way. That means, that although there is a general process than we all follow when God is working in our lives, He also has a very detailed plan, that He has made just for you. He knows what still needs refining. He knows what He is wanting to strengthen in you and develop in you. He knows what He needs the end result to look like for your good and His kingdom. He knows! We must trust the process and stay present in the place that God is in.
Sometimes we struggle to stay present in the process because we are uncomfortable with the part that He is focusing on. Maybe He is developing your God-pleasing skills and as a result, is placing challenges before you to help you overcome your people-pleasing tendencies. We know His Word is that we please Him, not man. So this is a part of the process we must be present in, be fully engaged in, so we can move on to the next part of process. We must be present in the process God has us in so we can overcome and step into all that He has for us, and all that we are longing for.
Each part of your process has greatest value to God. Stay present in the process and work through the places you would rather avoid than deal with. Are you longing for breakthrough? Spend time this week with the Holy Spirit. Ask Him to help you stay present in the process. He’s given you all you need to face things you would rather avoid. Don’t run ahead of God or the process. Stay fully present this week and work through the places God has you in. Tremendous breakthrough lies on the other side. Stay present and you will see the advancement you along for in your process!
