Lasso as a Weapon of War – A Word by Elaine Rice

Recently I had a bizarre dream that I passed off as a “pizza dream” until Holy Spirit brought it back to my mind several times. I’ve learned when a thought is persistent I need to pay attention and start asking the Lord questions. After all, He is the One with all the answers!
In this dream there were many people in a ranch-type setting sitting on saddled horses like one might see in a western movie. The horses were a little restless as if in anticipation of a great adventure. Every rider was equipped with a horse and saddle. The only other thing each one had was a lasso in hand.
Everyone was on alert as if watching for an event to begin. Suddenly, “thought bubbles” were appearing all over the place with people’s thoughts written out in text inside the bubbles. A thought bubble as defined by lexico.com is “a shape resembling a cloud, balloon, or bubble, which contains text representing a character’s thoughts”.
Immediately, riders began to swing their lassoes in the air. Determination on each rider’s face as each one chose their targeted “thought bubble” and released their lasso to capture that thought and pull it down as a cowboy would rope a calf – jumping down from their horses to tie up the “thought” and taking it captive.
2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (NKJV) – “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.”
I felt Holy Spirit say that the lasso was a weapon of war, and the body of Christ needs to take every thought captive that is not in alignment with the Word of God, the written Word and rhema words (God’s words spoken to you through His Word, prophecy, revelation, etc.)
The enemy has unleashed wave after wave of mind-battles against God’s people. It’s his age-old strategy from the Garden when he asked Eve, “Has God said…?” (Genesis 3:1) and he’s still asking the same old question. It’s time for every Believer to rise up and take every godless thought captive and begin to speak out what God says instead.
Be encouraged to saddle up your horse and grab your spiritual lasso! Be watchful and take every thought captive in the name of Jesus!
