On Passover : New Mantles are Falling Down
A Word by Candice Smithyman
This word was originally submitted on April 19, 2019.
Today on the Hebrew calendar the Passover begins, and Jesus is our Passover Lamb. On the Christian calendar, we call it Good Friday. I had a dream this morning that He was giving new assignments from heaven to people. I actually saw these mantles falling from heaven. Today is a day to hold out your hand and receive the new mantle assignment God has for you. Why is this significant? Because today is Passover and it is the day He took the third cup, which is the cup of redemption that comes through suffering. Today is the day His destiny was fulfilled.
The word cup in the greek is poterion which means figuratively a lot or fate, and fate means purpose and destiny. Today Jesus’ destiny was fulfilled and today He is giving out mantles from heaven.
The night before Jesus’ death, He shared the Passover meal with his disciples. In Matthew 26:26-29 (NIV), the word says, “While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, He broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, ‘Take and eat; this is my body.’ Then He took a cup, and when He had given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, ‘Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you, I will not drink from this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.’”

He said this because He was the drink offering. He was the blood of the new covenant that was in the cup. The cup He took with His disciples that night was the third cup in the traditional Passover Seder meal that Jews will participate in. This cup is also called the cup of blessing. The Apostle Paul in referring to Communion, also discusses this cup in 1 Corinthians 10:16 (KJV) when he says, “The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.” And in 1 Corinthians 10:21 (KJV), when he says, “Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the table of devils.”
In Exodus 6:6-8, God gives 4 Promises of the Passover which are shared at traditional Passover Seder meals, and one is revealed in the scripture which says, “I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments.” So, who is the stretched out arm? Jesus stretching His arms out and redeeming us as He took the judgment of sin upon Him so we would be set free and death would pass-over us.
In the story of Jesus suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane. The same word cup is mentioned here, in relation to the cup of redemption that comes from the suffering that He will endure on the night of Passover. In Matthew 26:36-45 (NIV), the word reads, “Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and He said to them, ‘Sit here while I go over there and pray.’ He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and He began to be sorrowful and troubled. Then He said to them, ‘My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.’ Going a little farther, He fell with his face to the ground and prayed, ‘My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.’ Then He returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. ‘Couldn’t you men keep watch with me for one hour?’ He asked Peter. ‘Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.’ He went away a second time and prayed, ‘My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done.’ When He came back, He again found them sleeping, because their eyes were heavy. So, He left them and went away once more and prayed the third time, saying the same thing. Then He returned to the disciples and said to them, ‘Are you still sleeping and resting? Look, the hour has come, and the Son of Man is delivered into the hands of sinners. Rise! Let us go! Here comes my betrayer!’”
Jesus asked three times, notice it was three times, that this cup of blessing, or redemption would be removed from Him, if it was God’s will to do so. Jesus asks God for the cup or His destiny to be stopped because of the suffering. However, the more He fought through the temptation by the power of the Spirit, the more He was empowered to fulfill His destiny or will of God which was to actually be “the blood of the new covenant” shed for us.
Jesus is saying at Passover, I will drink the cup of suffering and redemption and that is the completion of my destiny. That is fulfillment of my destiny. Why is this important in relation to mantles?
Because if today on Passover, Jesus is saying, “I am sending mantles from heaven for my people”, He is saying the work is finished on the cross and redemption has been made therefore, my destiny has been fulfilled and now you citizens of heaven and kingdom expanders will step into your new assignments today. So, lift up your hands as your borders have been expanded, the Kingdom of Heaven has come to earth, and new mantles are being released for you to walk in. Ask Him about these mantles and find out which one He has given you for this new season. Ask Him to teach you to walk in this mantle as new opportunities will open and you will be required to exercise these mantles by faith!

A TURNAROUND FOR YOU..
A word by Dana Jarvis
I decree you are making the spiritual journey from the bondage of Egypt into your promised land of destiny. I know you have grown weary. Do not let the murmurings and complaining attitudes rule you. It causes the faith to waiver! Your focus is upon the cup of bitter waters that you are currently drinking from.
Rest assured that your God is making these bitter waters sweet!
You shall taste and see that the Lord is good! You are going to see such extravagance in your daily life. He is delivering much into your hands so reach up and take hold. Just as he was with you before, he is with you now. You are going to drink deep of the Living Waters. The bitter waters of life have tried to steal all joy.
However I hear the Lord say, “It is done, I am the Lord who heals you. I am the Lord who will restore you. I am the Lord who will provide your every need. I am the One that is making the bitter waters sweet!”
I feel so strongly that God is removing your cup of bitter waters you have had to drink for so long. He is causing a turnaround for you in a situation that you desperately need him to move. I am speaking to several and know this word is for you. Even as the Lord led Moses and the children of Israel from their bondage at the Red Sea, it still took one step of faith. One step of faith is all it takes to cause a release from all of this. Take a moment and sow into good ground by giving into Spirit Fuel. For just a contribution of $25, $50, or even $100 or more given into Spirit Fuel is an active step and good ground on which to sow. It is a powerful ministry reaching the world for Christ. As you sow that offering, it is that act of faith that will cause the Red Sea where you are standing to part in your life. The bitter cup will be removed and the sweetness of the Lord shall begin to flow!
