One Nation Under A God Pause

Be still and know that I am God.
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth. Psalm 46:10 KJV
The Passion translation of Psalm 46:10 says, “Surrender your anxiety! Be silent and stop your striving and you will see that I am God.”
The Spirit of the Lord commands times in our lives when we are to have “God pauses”. Our nation is experiencing a God pause right now! For the past month I had been hearing the Spirit of the Lord say, “Be still and know that I am God.” In my studies of learning about stillness, I discovered that stillness is like allowing yourself to be submerged in deep water, like drowning. It means to cease from striving, to give up your efforts. Stop swimming against the current, relax and allow yourself to go under in God.
Let God Heal
The command to “be still” comes from the Hebrew word ‘ Hiphil’. The stem of the verb is ‘raphe’- meaning to be weak, to let go, to release. The word used in Hebrew as still is “harephu”. Harephu is composed of two root words, raphah, and ruph, which brings into the translation, ‘to bring about a healing”. So, this verse in my layman’s terms reads, Pause, be silent, let go, submerge yourself in God and know God can bring about a healing!
First Command
Be still is the first command of God in this hour and the demand of the government. We must not fear but allow the God pause to produce a healing in us and in our land. It’s time to let the works of the flesh go and know God is in control. God is the Master of the Universe. In your silence or stillness allow yourself to settle down and be newly established in your relationship with the Lord. It’s in silence we are able to hear sounds which were drowned from too much activity. It’s time for us to be students of God and sit down to listen to His voice. Let’s increase our listening skills to be quiet and learn the lessons God is teaching us during this crisis.
Second Command
The second command is to know that He is God. The word for ‘know’ is “yada” in Hebrew. This means an intimate knowing, like when Adam knew Eve his wife. Use this time to get reacquainted with the Master of the seas, skies and Earth. Christ is King and not covaid-19.
Allow Christ to be King in your heart. Crown Christ King of our life today. This is a time allowed by God for men to stop trusting in themselves, material things, and economic structures and begin to look to Christ and to experience the Glory of God’s ability.
Not a time of Idleness
Your job description right now is “to know God”. This is not a call to idleness or laziness but a call to lay aside every other weight and concentrate on the mind and will of God. It’s a time to ‘work’ out your soul’s salvation. It’s time for the saints to agree with heaven and call heaven into the earth. It’s time to give reverent attention and fear unto the Lord. When the church turns back to her first love, then the nations will begin to fear the Lord. Use this time to reflect, repent, and re-establish your priorities in God and life’s purpose.
God Will Be Exalted
When we obey God and get still, the promise of victory belongs to the earth. God says, “I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth.” (Ps 46:10b). When we stop and focus on knowing God and His will, we will begin to see God! When the busyness of routine stops, then our spiritual eyes and ears are open to the voice of the Lord. Take time to listen to hear what God is saying. Once you hear Him, speak His word into the atmosphere to pull down this principality and power.
The Spirit of the Lord has revealed to us His strategies of what to do when the earth is being shaken. Be Still and know that I am God. “Be personally healed in your stillness and see that I am the God who heals the nations!” says the Lord. With such revelation knowledge now in our hearts, fear has no place in us! If God be for us, who can be against us? (Rom 8:31) Make Christ your God today. The God of Jacob is our stronghold. Selah.
