Our Miraculous Dove Experience – A Word by Edward Franklin Eberly

The next day I was outside of my home washing my daughter’s bicycles, my wife and daughters were in the car getting ready to go shopping for our trip at midnight to a Christian Camp out of state.  My wife and I noticed a bird in a tree, and my wife said that it appeared as if it was talking to me. Well, I questioned that, and she said, “Call it over to you,” so I did, surprisingly the bird flew and landed on top of my head, and immediately, I thought of Jesus when the Spirit of God like a dove landed upon Jesus. And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: (Matthew 3:16)

I then put my arm out, and the bird perched on it and I took it over to my wife and daughters who were in the car. The bird was calm and stayed there with us, then I walked over and put the bird down to drink some water that was on the ground while I went in to get something to feed it, but then the bird flew away. The bird was with us several minutes, but we didn’t know what kind of a bird it was, we didn’t know yet.

We left at midnight for our trip and all went well, we checked in at our building and there we met a lady. She wasn’t supposed to have been in our building because she was scheduled for somewhere else but was there for a divine appointment for all of us that God arranged as well as making sure that we came on the trip well and ready to accomplish His plans for us which we didn’t know at the time. My wife and I told her of my bird experience and described the bird to her. She told us that it just so happened that she had two tame doves given to her and was studying about doves. She told us that it was a Pied Dove, the kind of dove that Noah sent out to scour the land while he and his family and all that were in the Ark would know when it was safe to get out of the Ark. Another thing she said was that this was a wild dove and not a tame one and that you couldn’t get a tame dove to land on your arm, and definitely not a wild dove because they are a bulky bird. She told us a bird trainer couldn’t get tame doves to land on his arm, and I not being a bird trainer plus it was a wild dove was impossible, but with God all things are possible. I believe that it was a sign that we were headed the right direction coming to the area for the work that God had planned for us. I told some of the leaders at the camp about my experience and they were amazed.

Getting back to the lady, she answered our questions about the bird being a Pied Dove, and how miraculous this experience was. She had not received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, so my wife and I ministered to her, and she received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues and was slain in the Spirit, and literally pinned to the floor because she told us that she could not get up, for about an hour. All night we heard her laughing and snickering in the room under us, she had quite an experience with the Holy Ghost.

In closing, God had a purpose for all of us, and when He has something for us, He will move Heaven and earth if need be to accomplish His purpose in our lives. Since then I have seen the hand of God move mightily in my life as well as the ministry that He has given me. But I know the best is yet to come for me and not only me but everyone that will be obedient to God’s Word and be willing to do His Plan for their lives.
