Pentecost, Awakening, and a John the Baptist Season

We have entered into a New Era. Something has shifted on a global level. The COVID-19 Crisis has changed the world, but I also keep getting a sense that it has also changed God’s people. I sense that during this time of quarantine and seclusion, God has used the situation to do something in the hearts of His people that will somehow continue to affect us. Even in our public gatherings.
Vision of the Shaking Continued
At the beginning of the year I had a vision. I saw The Lord’s hand reaching down and pulling up the Continental United States and shaking it. I saw roots hanging and things falling off the roots that I perceived to be individuals who were attacking the Constitutional roots of the USA. I believe that this is being fulfilled by the attack unleashed upon the planet by the releasing of this virus. And an unveiling has been taking place through all of this that is revealing the true agendas of certain world leaders, revealing the bigger picture of their plans to establish a global government. There are those in governmental and civilian leadership positions in the US who also want the same thing. I believe that this is not quite the time for that and so God has intervened to push back their time table so that a great harvest of souls can be gathered in before the end!
The Awakening from the Shaking
There is another Great Awakening that is coming upon the world, and I believe it has already started. As with many things, we tend to attach our own ideas to it, thinking that we’ve got it figured out how God is going to do it. We usually believe that He’s going to do it like He did it before. We all want revival and souls added to the Kingdom, but sometimes we don’t want what it takes in order to bring those souls to a place of readiness to be saved. That is what the shaking does. See Hebrews 12:25-29. When a shaking occurs, it begins to open our eyes up to what really matters. This is what I believe is going on right now to get the ground ready for the harvest.
Awakening in the Church First
In Mark chapter 8 there is the account of a blind man being healed in Bethsaida. Bethsaida in the Greek means “Fishing House”. Harvesting souls is scripturally compared to fishing. We want more fish in God’s house. But what does this scripture reveal that Jesus did to heal the blindness of the man in the “Fishing House?” His healing came in 2 steps which I feel represents what is taking place in this great awakening.
Step number one – Spiritual Sight Restored – An awakening in the church:
Mark 8:23-24 (NKJV) 23 “So He took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the town. And when He had spit on his eyes and put His hands on him, He asked him if he saw anything.”
24 “And he looked up and said, “I see men like trees, walking.”
Did Jesus miss the complete healing the first time? I don’t believe that at all. I believe that Jesus first opened the man’s spiritual eyes and he was seeing angels in the spirit realm.
Step number 2 – Physical Sight Restored – Awakening in the world:
Mark 8:25 (NKJV) 25 “Then He put His hands on his eyes again and made him look up. And he was restored and saw everyone clearly.”
God’s Agenda & Course Corrections
I believe that the first part of the awakening is going to be for God’s people, before it goes to the unsaved, and that our spiritual sight is going to be realigned with His agenda for the New Era that we are living in. What worked in the past isn’t going to continue to work in the present and the future. I also feel that there is going to be a short reprieve of this Covid19 crisis, and we will be tempted to go back to “business as usual”, but I also sense that more events are coming that will continue the attacks on our freedoms. I feel to encourage us to not get deceived by this time of grace by which God is giving us an opportunity to make the necessary “Course Corrections” that will give us the proper foundation for the upcoming outpouring and influx of souls! I feel that the word of the Lord is to “Bite the bullet, humble yourselves, and do what He is saying to get prepared for a very different move of God!”
I feel that there is going to be a Spirit led emphasis on Repentance. And that this emphasis is going to start with God’s people! See 1 Peter 4:17-18.
Am I portraying an unloving God because He wants to lead us to repentance? Absolutely not!
Psalms 135:14 (NKJV) 14 “For the Lord will judge His people, And He will have compassion on His servants.”
We serve a loving and compassionate God who brings conviction, not condemnation, on His people for their sins because He wants the best for us. He will not continue to let us go down a path that is not the best for us, so, He will place roadblocks in our paths in order to change our direction. I feel that God wants to make some “Course Corrections” for the church and for the world. The bible teaches that a loving parent is one who disciplines his children.
Hebrews 12:6 states that “6 For whom the Lord loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives.”
Revelation 3:19 (NKJV) says, “19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.”
A John the Baptist Season
When John the Baptist came on the scene before Jesus, he preached a message of repentance! Matthew 3:1-3 (NKJV) 1 In those days John the Baptist came preaching…, 2 … “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!” 3 …“The voice of one crying in the wilderness: Prepare the way of the Lord; Make His paths straight.’ ”.
Matthew 3:8-11 (NKJV) 8 “Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance, …11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I… He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.”
When Jesus finally came to John to be baptized, He was filled with the Holy Spirit. The outpouring – Pentecost – that we are praying for is represented in this. See Matthew 3:16-17.
Do you see the sequence of events here are laid out here? The message of repentance came and people were repenting and being baptized. This is the “voice of one crying in the wilderness, prepare the way of The Lord!’ Afterwards the Savior of the world shows up and shows us that the Father wants to save us and fill us with His Spirit! A Pentecostal Outpouring is coming! We’ve been praying it in! The former leads the way for the latter!
The Fear of The Lord is Wisdom
Job 28:27-28 (NKJV) 27 “Then He saw wisdom and declared it; He prepared it, indeed, He searched it out.” 28 “And to man He said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, And to depart from evil is understanding.’”
True repentance also carries with it an understanding of just how mighty and omnipotent our God is – The fear of the Lord! Somehow, we need to be able to bring a balanced message between God’s love and His holiness. Some will not be led to the Lord without it as is emphasized in Jude 1:20-23 (NKJV) 20 “But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.”
22 “And on some have compassion, making a distinction; 23 but others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh.”
Jude doesn’t exclude God’s love and grace here! Neither does he exclude saving some with an element of the fear of God! God help us to learn how to present this balance.
