As we have stepped into 2020, it’s like we’ve stepped into something out of a Hollywood movie. We are living in unprecedented times, and experiencing things across the world, especially in the United States not seen in our lifetime. On the morning of June 6/26/20 I had a dream I was in Baton Rouge, LA. with my spiritual son. In the dream this thick, dense, black cloud began to come down out of the sky. As far as I could see this cloud stretched. It was like a blanket coming down out of the sky to suffocate the people. The ends of the clouds had a wispiness to it that only looked like hands. It was like a spell coming over the people.
I began to press into the Lord for more understanding. What I thought was just the principality of the region I was in to minister, the Lord showed me it was a principality hovering over the United States. This black cloud reminded me of the books I read by Frank Peretti This Present Darkness and Perceiving The Darkness in high school. These fiction books told a story of the spiritual warfare and the effects of a principality over a city and, how it highly influenced what was going on. Those books stuck with me all these years as I’ve grown in greater understanding of spiritual warfare. As I was praying into my dream, I was reminded of Isaiah 60:2-3 TPT, “Look carefully! Darkness blankets the earth, and thick gloom covers the nations, but Yahweh arises upon you and the brightness of His glory appears over you. Nations will be attracted to your radiant light and kings to the sunrise-glory of your new day.” Other versions of this scripture describe the darkness as deep darkness, total darkness, or gross darkness.
What is gross darkness. In Isaiah 60:2 two types of darkness are denoted here. The Hebrew word choshek means obscurity, darkness, night, misery, destruction, death, ignorance, sorrow, wickedness. The next Hebrew word for gross darkness is araphel meaning cloud, heavy, dark cloud, thick darkness, gloom as of a lowering sky. These two Hebrew words for darkness paint a picture for what is going on in the world and in our nation of America. In this season of exposure the Lord is allowing the curtain to be rolled back to see what has been empowering what’s going in our nation and beyond. Even though we are seeing manifestations in the natural of riots, covid, racism, etc , these things are being empowered by demonic forces. We must remember we are in a spiritual battle of light versus darkness. Somethings we are experiencing and will experience have not been seen since biblical times. There is sin and darkness manifesting at levels we’ve not seen or heard of before.
Things are going to worse before they get better. But here is the redemption and promise in that, as the darkness increases so will the glory of God. The answer and antidote to the gross darkness is the glory of God. The cloud of His glory will displace this gross darkness. Its the glory of God that can only unveil the reality of Christ unbelievers and believers. 2 Corinthians 4:3-4 says, “And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. 4 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” This is what we’re seeing right now, the god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers so they can’t see the light of the gospel. Another antidote needed to war against this gross darkness is the Spirit of Truth. The Spirit of Truth is needed to pierce through the darkness because. The word of God says its the truth of God that will bring true liberty and freedom. The truth of God is what dispels the darkness.
Let not your heart be troubled by what you see going on. In this hour there is a dividing line being drawn between the true and the false. We’re really going to begin to see who carries the true power and demonstration of Christ, and those who are operating in demonic powers. It’s a showdown between light and darkness. The Lord is empowering His people for victory despite the circumstances. In Isaiah 60:2 it says after the gross darkness, “but Yahweh arises upon you and the brightness of His glory appears over you.” Despite the darkness, God is releasing a greater measure of glory that we’ve not seen or known before. His glory is the answer to the darkness because, darkness cannot dwell where His glory is. Where there is a spirit of death, confusion, racism, lawlessness, etc. His glory releases life, healing, wholeness, transformation, and more. More than ever, we cannot settle for anything less than His glory.
JOY IN JULY!
I was getting ready for bed Sunday night (6/28/20) I suddenly felt this sudden surge of excitement and stirring for July. I had a brief vision where I saw and felt a book close, and I began to get an overwhelming sense of breakthrough coming in July. Things that have been totally shut off or closed, the things that you’ve been contending for are going to begin to move forward. I heard Holy Spirit say. “What has been invisible is coming into visibility. It’s coming into real time. This will be reason to celebrate. As joy comes it will bring a refreshing and strengthening to you.
As I pressed in for greater understanding the Lord reminded me July is the 7th month. Seven prophetically means divine perfection, rest, and spiritual completion. Many of you are coming into a place of rest and peace as you enter July. There is a completion taking place where the Lord is closing the chapter of last season, and opening the new. The Lord is tying up the loose ends and misunderstandings of last season. You’re going to see and feel a shift on the inside of you that will begin to manifest in the natural. The Lord gave me Psalm 24:7 TPT for this season, “So wake up, you living gateways! Lift up your heads, you ageless doors of destiny! Welcome the King of Glory, for he is about to come through you.” The reason of the intensity of battle is because its over your destiny, and the destiny of our nation. But the Lord Himself is going before you through the gates. The gates are places of influence. He is breaking the things at gate that have kept you from moving forward.
Things are coming into visibility that have been invisible. As I heard the Lord share this with me, the story in 1 Kings 18:42-44 of Elijah praying for rain came to mind. After the big showdown between Elijah and the prophets of Baal, Elijah went up to Mt. Carmel with His servant to pray for the rain to come. The scriptures said that he put his head between his legs and began to pray. He kept sending out his servant to check and see if the rain was coming. On the seventh time the servant came back and said. “And at the seventh time the servant said, “A cloud as small as a man’s hand is coming up from the sea (1 Kings 18:44).”
What was happening in the spirit was now coming into real time. The cloud was an indicator there was more to come. I believe this word of things coming into visibility is two fold. There’s going to be a continuation of exposure and that things have been hidden coming to light. We haven’t even scratched the surface of that yet. In this context I want to focus on the positive side of that. Once again the number seven was mentioned in Elijah’s story as he prayed. It was the seventh time that the servant looked when things shifted. The season of famine was complete, now it made way for the abundance of rain to come.
Things to make note of in this passage. (1.) Elijah got in the birthing position. The scriptures said he tucked his head in-between his legs and prayed. Its a prophetic picture of how prayer helps birth the breakthrough. Elijah had to get into position. (2.) Elijah heard before he saw. Sometimes the Lord with come in a different way that we’re used to receiving Him in. Elijah looked for the breakthrough, but sound of breakthrough came first. (3.) Elijah prayed effectively. James 5:16-17 TPT says, “For tremendous power is released through the passionate, heartfelt prayer of a godly believer! 17 Elijah was a man with human frailties, just like all of us, but he prayed and received supernatural answers.” Other versions say. “the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” Elijah was effective because the power of God was being released by the intensity of his prayers. The power of God released through prayer was effective and brought breakthrough to the skies. (4.) The cloud was an indicator of more. After the small cloud was spotted the sky began to multiply and fill the sky with the abundance of rain. The effectiveness of prayer released abundance. In this season and month your going to begin to see the effectiveness of your prayers manifest and come into visibility.
In this hour we are in the best and worst of times. It’s important to keep in mind and remembrance of who you are in Christ, what is the truth of God’s word, and what is He saying. We don’t have to be subject to what is going on in the natural. We can live in God’s reality despite what is going on in the earth.
