Prophetic Dream For The Songwriters – A word by Roma Waterman

In March of 2019 I had a dream that I felt to share again- it’s for the songwriters.
In the dream I was ministering at a city wide worship event. At sound check a group from the Salvation Army got up- they were all wearing red tops and it was a big choir.
The song they were going to sing was a worship song that the whole world knew. It had become famous all over the world. I immediately knew the song and it always moved me to sing it along with others.
I went up to someone on stage and said “is the person who wrote this song here?” And this person said yes I’ll introduce you.
They bring me up on stage and take me to the back row of the choir where a lady in her 30s was standing. You would have never guessed this was the writer of such a powerful song. Without sounding insulting, she was not anything special to look at. She was plain in every way.
I grabbed her hands and I was so excited to meet her. I thanked her so much for her song and said I was so honored to meet her. She seemed surprised and a little embarrassed.
This woman was singing as part of the choir. She did not stand out and was not put on a pedestal for her song. Her song was more famous than she was- in fact when I met her and they told me her name, I had never heard it before, but I knew her song.
I started asking boundless questions to her -“how did you write this song- what was your inspiration?” “How did your song become so well known?” Every answer was so simple.
“I wrote the song because I loved Jesus – I didn’t think about it becoming a famous song I was just sharing my heart.”
“I am surprised it is well known I wasn’t looking for that- I was just singing to the Lord.”
Then I woke up.
Within minutes of waking the lord started to speak to me.
He said to me:
“Roma the global song that the church sings carries timeless truths that do not change depending on an era or denomination. There’s foundations in my kingdom that everyone in every city of the world will sing and agree with. Write songs that carry timeless truths.”
“She was writing songs from her heart purely to love me- don’t write hoping someone will hear – write because you want ME to hear.”
“This songwriter was part of something bigger than herself – she wasn’t a Lone Ranger. She was singing in the choir of one of the biggest denominations (Salvation Army). She wasn’t trying to “make it” on her own but she was part of a family, part of a movement. In some ways it encircled her as she was hiding in the crowd of the choir about to worship as a team.”
“I want my songwriters to be immersed in their church families. I want them to be a part of the “choir” – in the sense of being part of their community and care.”
“This songwriter was not known but her song was. She has no intention of being famous or making a name for herself. I want my songwriters not to be concerned with making a path or name for themselves.”
Songwriters it’s time. Write fervently, for the audience of one- the church needs it now, more than ever.
