It Is Time To Break the Mold
As I was spending time with God recently I heard Him say ‘I am going to break the molds in this next season’. At the same time I saw a picture of a pair of hands taking a physical mold, commonly used to reproduce an item, the pair of hands destroyed the mold so that it could not be used again.
The expression to break the mold means:
To put an end to a restrictive pattern of events or behaviour by doing things in a markedly different way. (Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary)
This word aligns with the scripture of Isaiah 43:18-19 (NIV) “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!”
There are two areas that this expression addresses. Firstly, it can be used to identify the way a process is completed. A mold ensures that each item that is produced by the process is identical.
In the past, there has been a desire to mass produce people outcomes. In society and in the church, when success has occurred, then a desire has arisen to ‘copy’ the process to produce the same outcome. While there could have been good intentions behind this strategy, it has led to people being restricted to ideals set by others.
Within the church, it has resulted in many of the Body of Christ feeling squashed and unaccepted. Instead of being raised up and released as God intended, because they did not fit within the mold set by leadership and culture they have been harmed. It has led to comparison, envy, division and some have become disenchanted with the church and Christianity. This is what occurs when the molds of man replace the manifestation of God.
In this next season, the production of molds to try and capture what the Holy Spirit is doing will not work because the Spirit is doing something completely new and the only way to move with God will be to understand the importance of the second part of this expressions definition.
The expression ‘to break the mold’ is also used to describe the uniqueness of individuals. (Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary)
When people are seen for their individual gifts and talents, when they are accepted and loved for who God created them to be, we apply this definition of the expression. We say that ‘God broke the mold’ when He made them because we recognise their uniqueness. This is the key to the next season.
This is a season where God is breaking the molds that have restricted you because He broke the mold when He created you.
Father God is opening our eyes to our uniqueness and giving us strength to embrace it. God will reveal new gifts, anointings and callings. He is releasing us to serve Him – in a way that only we can. Ephesians 2:10 (NLT) says that we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do good things he planned for us long ago. God created each of us with an individual purpose and plan in mind.
Do not be afraid to step into who God has called you to be. Be courageous and move into your mold breaking season and see the fruit that will come from being who God has created you to be.
This is your season to break the mold with Jesus!

You put me together inside my mother’s body.
14 How you made me is amazing and wonderful.
I praise you for that.
What you have done is wonderful.

When you were putting me together there,
16 your eyes saw my body even before it was formed.
You planned how many days I would live.
You wrote down the number of them in your book
before I had lived through even one of them.
