THE DREAM LANGUAGE IN A NEW ERA //SURRENDERING THE OLD FOR THE NEW

Throughout the year I have had consecutive dreams about exchanging the old for the new and surrendering our old modus operandi for the fresh orders from heaven. I believe dreams are the often overlooked or devalued language of heaven that carry and imparts the very assignments, ideas, strategies, and breakthrough many have been praying for! Dreams throughout the bible were used to give insight and direction before or during a new season and those who understood them were able to navigate these seasons well. So with that in mind I felt it would be helpful to briefly share what some of the key dream themes of this season are and what they mean for us.
NEW GLASSES
If you have dreamt of glasses God is giving you eyes to see differently where you have become used to viewing your life, circumstances, and calling in a limited way. God is giving you eyes to see “beyond” where you did before. Insight and foresight that results in radical vision and running your race in this season with a clear goal and mark. God is also opening your eyes to see the areas you have been robbed in during the last season so you don’t make the same mistakes. According to the Hebraic year of 5779 we are still in the “seeing” years where God is equipping the seers to guide the church in greater glory. Let our prayer be like Elisha’s “Open our eyes so we can see!”
“Open my eyes to see the miracle-wonders hidden in your word” Psalm 119:18
“Having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints” Ephesians 1:18
NEW JACKET
God has been mantling the church anew for the season we are in. Elisha was mantled with a double portion as he received his master Elijah’s cloak which afforded him to operate in extraordinary signs, wonders, and demonstrations of power. Your new jacket means the expiring of an old one. It means what your last mantle did won’t work the same in the new jacket. You need to adjust yourself to fit the jacket not adjust the jacket to fit you which is saying that you need to learn exactly what God has placed upon you. How? Find a problem to slap it at! Dreams of different types of clothing all vary in meaning but can represent CHANGE. I believe this will be a rags to glory season for many who haven’t valued themselves but will be surprised as God uses them mightily. Get rid of the rags and say yes to the jacket full of Gods glory and majesty!
“For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels” Isaiah 61:10
NEW SHOES
God has been handing out new shoes in dreams. I feel like these shoes represent pioneering new territory and new shores. These shoes represent assignments to specific regions and nations, or mountains of influence. Many are going to be suddenly uprooted in this season and catapulted into the nations to RUN the race before them. For those who have been stuck and in a holding pattern these shoes are advancing you forward with ease.
I have such an excitement in my spirit that where God is leading us is above and beyond anything we could ever comprehend. The long and arduous season of preparation has not been in vain. So it’s time to say Yes to the new shoes and refuse any other option that cheats us out of our destiny.
“And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” Romans 10:15
“As for us, we have all of these great witnesses who encircle us like clouds. So we must let go of every wound that has pierced us and the sin we so easily fall into. Then we will be able to run life’s marathon race with passion and determination, for the path has been already marked out before us” Hebrews 12:1
NEW CAR OR VEHICLE
Dreaming of a new car, bus, racecar, boat, cruise ship all can represent new ministries being birthed. These are dreams to lay attention to because this is a time that many once hidden are emerging and new ministries and unseen expressions are going to spring up quickly. We must be careful not to quickly discard or disqualify what we don’t understand because God is going to use people in unusual ways in the days to come and he may just use YOU. What ministry or expression is God birthing through you right now?
NEW KEYS
Dreaming of keys can be so significant. Every time I have dreamt of keys has always followed by a season of upgrade in anointing and function. Keys are an impartation of a grace you didn’t walk in before because they unlock what was inaccessible. Keys represent both authority and intimacy which makes sense because you wont know your authority outside of intimacy.
Keys indicate a significant increase coming upon your life and the way you warfare, operate in the anointing, and live from His presence.
“I will place on his shoulder the key to the house of David; what he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open” Isaiah 22:22
PEN, BOOKS, & CREATIVITY
Dreams of writing books are significant right now because I believe we are in a season of increased revelation to export heaven onto the earths printing press to mark this generation. If you have preciously dropped your pen don’t be surprised if you dream of writing again or find the passion rise up in you. There is a backorder on the library of heaven to fill the empty shelves here and you may just be the answer.
Painters, songwriters, dancers, filmmakers, photographers and all other creatives and artisans, God is refilling your creative well with fresh revelation that will impact the world around you. Many are dreaming of songs that they didn’t write. Choreography that they couldn’t come up with that has brought instant healing to those who watch it. The floodgates of heavens creativity is bursting open wide in this season and many are raising their hands to be the sound that will ring throughout the earth.
NEW WAVE OF REVIVAL GLORY
While there are so many more themes and recurring symbols God has been using to speak to us about stepping into the new this season, the one I want to make the greatest mention of is the wave. I have had so many dreams and visions this year of a wave of Gods glory that is coming to usher in revival for the nations. We have also received so many messages from others who have seen these waves too. Some are surfing the wave, some are trying to catch the wave, and some are standing looking at its magnitude and fearing it. It’s obvious that this wave is coming to bring awakening and revival and will not leave any stone unturned and any dry place untouched. This wave is both personal and corporate and God is calling us to not just sit by watching it come but participate by paddling with it. We are designed to ride the wave!
A NEW SURRENDER
It’s not always easy to accept change and adjust in a new season because it’s greatly uncomfortable, and often we find that we wrestle the very change that is bringing in the breakthrough we need. I want to encourage you today to keep surrendering to the new even when it doesn’t make sense.
I also want to encourage you to explore the new ways He is speaking to you, and begin using and testing out the new tools in your hands. It’s a day of a new surrender where as we lie down and yield to his Spirit He is not only adding to you, but launching you.
