Two nights ago I woke at 3 am. I am embarrassed to say this was the second night in a row that this happened and because I was tired, I wasn’t paying attention! The Lord was really trying to get my attention. You might have already seen my post on Facebook in regards to what He said to me, but I felt to email you also in case you missed it.
This particular early morning, I woke up wide awake and sensed the Lord really wanting to speak to me. But it was a real wrestle – there was a lot of noise in the air if that makes sense – a lot of things on my mind, the side effect of a busy life (I’m sure many of you know that feeling).
Finally, I said, “Lord, what is it? What’s on your heart?”
I was really blessed by what he spoke. He is so very kind and so wise isn’t he? What you read below is what I felt he spoke, and I believe this is for many of us right now.
So here goes….
I don’t know who needs to hear this but I sense the Lord wants you to know it’s not a competition.
Just run and do what God has called you to do. Whether people come alongside you or not is secondary. Jesus is by your side and that’s all that matters
You are in a season where the things that worked before in your life and ministry do not seem to be producing the same fruit. It doesn’t mean you’re a failure or that God’s favor has lifted.
The season is changing. There is transition in the air. Keep looking to Jesus and he will direct your paths and shift things when the time is right. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other until he tells you otherwise.
I see a picture in the spirit of a horizon in the distance and you saying “that’s where I’m meant to go, that’s where God is calling me.”
But I hear the Lord saying even though the mandate over your life hasn’t changed, things are going to look different than you have imagined.
I sense God saying: “Let go of the end goal and go back to walking with me step by step.”
Long vision is amazing but sometimes God requires us to value and highlight the little steps, the simplicity of walking and talking with him day by day without knowing where it’s leading.
He wants you to trust him. He will lead you down the right paths. Stop looking to the horizon and start gazing into his eyes! Stop looking at what is ahead and pay attention to what is up close
Value the personal over the panoramic!
So stop comparing yourself or your life or ministry to someone else’s. The enemy uses the trap of comparison to make you feel you’re not good enough and doubt that you heard from God in the first place
Just because something has not turned out the way you planned doesn’t mean you are a failure. Just because your life doesn’t have all the bells and whistles you think you need doesn’t mean you are less spectacular than the next person
The enemy trades with currency of comparison but that’s not the Lord’s way
THE LORD IS NOT WANTING TO TRADE WITH YOU – HE IS WANTING TO PARTNER WITH YOU.
That kind of life looks a whole lot different. Trust him, he’s using you in amazing ways! Keep going!
My prayer for you today:
Father, I pray for every person reading this right now. Set them free as they look to you and look to you only! I pray REST and RESET, a new perspective, a new way of walking and talking with you that causes their personal relationship with you to increase. I ask Father for your joy to fill their hearts and minds right now. Father we repent if we have traded in the currency of comparison. We reposition ourselves to PARTNER and not trade with you. Speak to us as your sons and daughters, and we will respond as your sons and daughters! In Jesus name, Amen
