The Lord’s invitation to call upon Him. The rain came and the Rains are coming! – A Word by Christianna Schreifels

This is a testimony to God’s goodness. The message in this testimony is two-fold. One, the rains are coming to heal our land. Two, Call on Him- he will show you!

This journey with the Lord has been life-changing as life with Jesus always is. It started back in 2017- we felt called to leave the city and move to the mountains.

The Lord did miracles to bring us here. I will share that at another time when the Lord leads me to.

Let me share my journey with the Lord about the Rain.

We moved up to a mountain town.  As we settled into our new home and novel surroundings, the Lord immediately impressed upon me in my prayer times that I was to pray that the drought end. There was a definite urgency in regards to time so I started that day. At that point, the drought had lasted 8 years in our region and I believe most of California. When the drought ended, it lasted 376 weeks, from December 27, 2011, and ended on March 5th, 2019. (drought.gov.states.california).

As I begin this assignment from the Lord, my prayers were without belief. Of course, I didn’t know that at first but God is faithful and he brought that to my attention. What the Lord showed me grieved my heart and I repented of my sin, then I followed with repenting of the sins of our government, and the people of California. I heard the Lord say that If I were to be one of His watchmen on the wall that I had to carry His heart for what He was calling me to do. The extent of the drought in this state went unnoticed by me until I moved to the mountains. I knew of the drought but was unaware of the toll it was taking on the land just out my front door. It was as if the Lord brought me here so I could see the damage the drought was actually doing to the Lord’s earth in this small place and time. That day, I became deeply aware of how much the Lord cares for us and His creation. My eyes opened to the level of stewardship He has placed in our hands.

I begin to do prayer walks in my yard and then the neighborhood. I thanked the Lord for healing our land. As time went on, I begin to decree aloud what Holy Spirit was telling me to speak to the Land. I was led by the Lord to bless the land and pray a cleansing over it in Jesus Name, then anoint it with oil. There were days when all I did was worship and I sang the simple, songs out loud that the Lord would give me, over the land. Then the Lord led me to blow my shofar at times and decree that it rain and snow in our land, depending on the season we were in. I can honestly say, I knew God’s creation was hearing me. I rejoiced in the Lord that I was obeying the Lord. We can truly do all things through Him who strengthens us. (Phil. 4:13)

I eventually got my kids involved. One of my sons begin to share the same burden and he started agreeing with me in prayer to have our land, state, healed

I remember that year there was little to no snow falling when the season would have normally brought the snow. I knew God was faithful to bring the snow so I kept praying and decreeing it would snow every day during my prayer time. I would walk my land. It was daily and often. There were some days that I did this all day until I heard the Lord say to rest until the next day.

I know the Lord was training me. I grew in hearing His voice and still am growing in this. Then one day in December, we witnessed our 1st miracle regarding the weather.

It was cold and sunny, a late fall day, almost winter.

It was around 3 in the afternoon. I had just done my prayer walk and was a little discouraged but repented of that and boldly spoke into the atmosphere that it was going to snow because Jesus said so. I told the atmosphere that it belonged to its Creator and that the trees needed water so snow now. It seemed silly yet it’s true. I felt the Holy Spirit continue to prompt me to not doubt what I was being told to do. I kept hearing in my spirit, ” Don’t quit Daughter- keep believing Me.” Trust Me.”

The scripture that kept coming to my mind was 2 Corinthians 5:7:

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” I thanked the Lord that He heard me and felt a tangible expectancy rise up within me that the Lord was going to do something about it.

15 minutes later, a gust of chilly wind came over our trees in my yard.  I ran outside onto my balcony because it caught my attention and a snow flurry came with it. I remember very well that there were no clouds anywhere and it was a sunny day but the snow flurry came nonetheless. It was astonishing and supernatural. My kids witnessed it all. I remember my kids and me, jumping up and down. We were in awe of God and knew it was the Lord answering our prayer.

The snow did not stay but for a few moments on the ground in our yard. It was a space of about 4 feet where the snow fell. It was real and amazing. Although I saw it I was in shock. Was I imagining this? I thank God for my kids because they set me straight. I have a son that was really amazed at what God had done and he begin to stand for the healing in our land with me and has since.

It spurred me on and I became so encouraged to keep standing in the Lord for the land and our state to be healed of drought. I knew the Lord was up to something big.

My kids and I felt the Lord’s delight as we obeyed and kept standing on the promises of God for our land and region. It was a, “WOW” moment. We will never forget that day.

My kids were so jazzed up. It increased their faith and my own. We told my husband and he too was amazed. He was at work when it happened.

That winter wasn’t a great one. So I kept up what the Lord said to do. Over time, we begin to see more snow come in the winter and days of rain when it was the rainy season.

I kept up our prayer walks and then they moved out of my yard and I begin to walk an area of the lake nearby. I knew the Lord was doing what the Lord could only do- He was going to bring the rain to end the drought. The Lord knew His timing of things. So we waited with great anticipation.

One day in February, it was February 11, 2019, my kids and I were driving past the lake that had been entirely dried up for a few years according to the locals that lived there before I did.

My son who grew in his love for the Lord and desire to pray for the land said, “Momma, decree what God would say over this lake now.” I said,”Ok, let’s ask what we should pray.”

So I rolled my window down and put my hand out of my car window and prayed what I felt the Holy Spirit tell me.

I remember this as if it were yesterday, I prayed, “Lord, I decree this lake be filled with water in 1 day. Let it rain so much that not only this lake be filled but the drought ends in California in Jesus’ Name!  Amen!”

Then we drove home believing that what we asked if it was according to His will. (1 John 5:14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.)

There were so many saints praying for the drought to end beside my family and me and this encouraged me as well.

The Lake which is a marsh area was filled in one day on Feb 14th just 3 days later and the drought was documented to be over on March 5, 2019.

PRAISE BE TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST!

I remember that day- we were so elated and in awe of God. The atmosphere felt electrified but not because of the lightning. I knew God did exactly what He wanted to do.

I was humbled and awestruck that He would even hear us. The fear of the Lord came upon me and all I could do was rejoice and weep and give Him praise and thanksgiving with my voice. Our family rejoiced in God together.

In Psalm 8:4-6 & 9

“What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?”For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honor. Thou made him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet: 9. O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!”

Now the Rain story

This begins in June of this year, 2021. I noticed the little rainfall and the not-so-great winter we had just come out of from 2020. The drought was returning and my heart was grieved for the land once again. I also felt grief for the condition of our state spiritually as many have grieved for California. I had been interceding for our region and our state alongside multitudes standing in the gap for California and had noticed a shift in the spirit because of the covid pandemic. It was darker and it seemed harder for the Spirit of the Lord to break through the atmosphere despite the consistent prayers. It isn’t because the Spirit of the Lord can’t break through it- never. It is a spiritual battle that the Lord has invited us into partnership with Him to defeat the assignment in the land. The Lord is always about relationships and He is always going to invite us to Him. We’re the stewards of it.

The Lord impressed upon me to begin to fast at certain times and days. Now, mind you, I am not always faithful in doing so. Oftentimes, I’d forget I am even fasting and have to start over. This is something I am still battling but I know the Lord will complete the work he has started in me and over fasting too.

My son, the one who prays over the land with me, had started a new job. We’d be on the road before sunrise. So I often spent time with the Lord while seeing the sunrise after I dropped him off.  in the morning of June 16th, my son said, “Mom, start asking the Lord for it to rain again.” I replied, “Well the Lord hears you too, so let’s pray together.  We prayed and asked for rain.

When I drove away that morning after I dropped him off, the Lord directed me to pray this- “Ok, Lord. I decree it would rain as often as you want it to Lord until you stop the rain from coming this summer.  Lord, we need the rain.  Let Your Kingdom come here as it is written in Heaven. Thank You Jesus for hearing me. In Jesus Name, Amen.”

Here is my rain log- it is not usual even for our monsoon season of rain. The monsoon season doesn’t generally last as long and I’m praising Jesus.

I asked the Lord for rain again on October 4th. It rained on October 6th, 2021.

The Lord is going to bring the RAIN! He is going to cleanse our land and He is inviting us to partner with Him in healing our land. Pray and expect it.

Finally, the Lord’s Invitation to us remains.

In Jeremiah 33:3, it says, “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”

The Lord has woven into us, our need for Him. He invites us to call on Him and when we answer His invitation, His promises are made manifest. It’s right there in Jeremiah 33:3. The promise is our relationship with Him. It brings our Beloved Savior joy that we call on Him, to worship, to listen, to obey, to delight in Him and He in us. To agree with Him to bring His kingdom come, His will be done as it is written in heaven. My hope is that you are encouraged today.

And It’s all for His glory. All of it!
