While at a physical therapy appointment a few weeks ago, the Lord spoke to me with a message for the church that he just now released me to share. As I was laying on the table receiving electromagnetic pulse therapy for neck and shoulder issues, I heard him say, “The spine of the church, much like the binding of a book, has deteriorated. Bad posture has caused this deterioration. I am stretching and strengthening her to be able to rise up and stand firm once again. Pain and imbalance have stood in the way of wholeness for too long.”

I believe this deterioration is a result of two things: 1. A head that looks down instead of straight ahead. 2. A wounded heart that operates from an offended posture.

No More Self Focus!

“Lift up your heads, O gates! And be lifted up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord, strong and mighty, the Lord, mighty in battle!” – Psalm 24:7-8 (ESV)

Church, we have allowed self-reflection to interfere with the purposes of God for our lives long enough. Self focus is a downward gaze that only causes us to look within and muster up the strength to ‘pull ourselves up by our bootstraps’. This is not the way of the Lord. The world praises those who are self-made men and women for their hard-won efforts in life but God gets no glory from this because they’re reliance was on themselves. Rags to Riches stories are inspiring, sure, but they only point others to one person’s achievements and we are left wondering how to overcome obstacles ourselves. The testimony of Jesus leading us out of the mess is what changes lives! We must trust in the Lord instead of ourselves and see with eyes of faith by lifting up our heads to the Maker of heaven and earth. Our dependence must be solely on what our limitless God can do and not on what our limited selves can do. It is not by might, nor by power but by the Spirit that we move forward! (Zechariah 4:6)

No More Offense!

“…and give no opportunity to the devil.”- Ephesians 4:27 (ESV)

“Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” – Ephesians 4:32 (ESV)

The demonic spirit of offense is only out to do one thing: bring division in the church. Too many of us have allowed offense to make a home within our hearts due to the words and actions from others within the body of Christ. The longer we hold on to these issues, the more division rises up causing corruption and instability. We must say no to this attack of the enemy and choose to walk in forgiveness, church. Remember, we are all capable of hurting others- no one is exempt from making a mistake. Oh, may we see ourselves rightly so we never overestimate our ability to resist pride. It is a sneaky foe that settles in when we have been victimized and makes us believe we are immune from hurting others. If we are operating in our own strength, we can destroy relationships in a moment because we see the speck in their eye but discount the plank in our own eye. (Matthew 7) We have been called to take up our Cross and follow Jesus! (Matthew 16:24) This is the essence of being a disciple of Christ. Offense has no place in the Kingdom.

Stretch and Strengthen

This year, 2020, has been one of much stretching and strengthening. The Lord has allowed this shaking to take place in order to call us back to our divine design, both personally and corporately. Identities have been attacked and destinies have been threatened.  BUT…”Revival is in the air” as the new Bethel song says! We need to be living with hope in our hearts and faith as our sight! The shaking that has happened in the last few months has prepared the way for the new dimension of glory that the Lord is releasing to his faithful ones. God has been preparing the remnant to be able to carry the new level of glory! The remnant is rising up right now because they have seen that man’s ways of wisdom are fruitless bringing only pain and delay. They have seen that walking in the wisdom and fear of the Lord is the strategy that will unite us once again, church!

May we repent for offense and unforgiveness and cut off all access that we’ve given the enemy to roam around in our hearts and minds. May we take our eyes off of our humanistic accomplishments and allow the Holy Spirit to guide us into all truth because this is the only way to step into our destiny! Ask the Lord to be the Lifter of your head today. (Psalm 3:3) Invite Jesus to heal your heart from offense and realign your thoughts, feelings and motives with his love. His love covers a multitude of sins! Bind us together in love, Lord! Amen!

“You are always and dearly loved by God! So robe yourself with virtues of God, since you have been divinely chosen to be holy. Be merciful as you endeavor to understand others, and be compassionate, showing kindness toward all. Be gentle and humble, unoffendable in your patience with others. Tolerate the weaknesses of those in the family of faith, forgiving one another in the same way you have been graciously forgiven by Jesus Christ. If you find fault with someone, release this same gift of forgiveness to them. For love is supreme and must flow through each of these virtues. Love becomes the mark of true maturity.” – Colossians 3:12-14 (tpt)
