There is room for you at the Father’s house – A Word by Jennifer Chuks

I recently had a dream where there was community of people who I understood to be believers were gathered together in a building office type setting which contained many rooms. As I entered into the space, I could see them gathered together sharing a meal, chatting, smiling and simply fellowshipping together. As I approached the table that they were eating from, I could see that the table was very messy and didn’t look like the type of table that would facilitate this type of gathering. Instead of a banquet meal, which I expected the table to have, it was covered with plastic type containers that had appetizers that looked more like dog food than human food quite honestly. As I looked at it close up, I felt a question arise in my heart asking “Is this what this table contains?” and if so, “Is there room for me here?” and because the table was so full and there were so many people there, I knew there was no room for me there.

Just as I thought that in my heart, a young African American man, which I believe to be an angel or messenger in the dream walked up to me in the midst of the crowd, took me by the hand and said very gently “Let’s go over here.” I walked with him and he took me to a room off to the side of this fellowship hall. As we walked the distance (about 50 feet away) I felt peace and ease like this was where I needed to be. I did not sense the questions that I had felt at the table. I believe that it was a feeling of acceptance, anticipation, and spirit of peace that come upon me. Just then I woke up.

I want to encourage those who may be seeking acceptance from people or who are longing for community and family relationships that there is always room for you in The Father’s House. This dream took place in an earthly setting, however, the message and timing of this dream was perfect for exactly what was needed to bring encouragement at that time. God will often speak to us in our dreams in a way which we can understand and interpret if we seek his wisdom and council.

Jesus tells us in John 14 3-4 (NIV) that “In My Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you I will come back and welcome you into my presence, so that you may also be where I am? You know the way to the place where I am going.”…

The NLT (New Living Translation) says in verse 3, “When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.”

The Father wants to be with us more than we want to be with him. Not only that, but he sent his only son to the earth in order to recover, redeem and receive us to himself. If you find yourself in a place today where you are seeking family and fellowship, but you’re feeling insignificant or left out, be assured that there are many rooms in the Father’s house. There is always room for you in his Kingdom and at his table. Sometimes we may seek relationships or fellowship from people and we may experience rejection. This is sometimes protection from an unhealthy situation or table that you don’t need to be at. Jesus will always find his own and receive them to himself. He actually leaves the 99 sheep in his fold, in order to rescue the 1. Be encouraged today and know that he is sending heaven’s help to bring you to his house just like he did with his wandering prodigal son. You are loved and a child of his Kingdom, just wait on him and HE WILL COME AND RECEIVE YOU HIMSELF.
