Unstopping the Wells Within – Sherry Evans
We have been in an exciting, glory-filled season at the church that my husband and I pastor. In a matter of a few weeks, we have seen the Lord supernaturally swoop down and set many people free. We have seen wounds and bondages of ten and twenty years GONE from people with one touch from God’s presence. In one dramatic case, a young man sat in a trance-like state for an hour and a half with his hands up in front of him. During this encounter, the Lord scooped him up in light and had him sit with Him. At one point, the Lord said to this man, “Let me show you what I can do.” God then took this young man and had him lay hands on people in this visionary encounter, and people were being powerfully touched. This young man also was set free.
As I have pondered this, the Lord began to show me that this is a season in which He is setting people free from what has stopped up the “living springs” of the Holy Spirit within. He is healing His bride, His army, so that we can carry the living water to those who are in need. A new season of glory and power is upon us!
When Isaac was living in the Promised Land, he encountered a famine. (Genesis 26) He wanted to get out of there and go right back to Egypt, until the Lord stopped him and redirected him to HIS promised land. The Lord may have called you to a ministry, but that does not mean there will not be opposition. The fact that there is opposition does NOT mean that you are not in the right place. Isaac obeyed the Lord, and the Word says that He sowed in that land and reaped 100-fold. Stay where God has called you and what He has called you to do and SOW! When you sow into what God has called YOU to, He will bring the increase.
You sow into what God has called you to with your prayers, your faithfulness, the Word of God, and sometimes with your finances. I had been praying for a move of God at our church for quite awhile. My husband and I had taught the Word concerning the Holy Spirit – His power and fire.
After Isaac had prospered, his enemies became jealous and filled in his well. They not only did that one time. They did it several times. Again, there was opposition. However, Isaac, did not give up and run again. NO, he just dug another well.
The Word tells us that “out of our innermost being will flow rivers of living water.” (John 7:38) The river is the Holy Spirit within us, but our well of living water can sometimes become stopped up. Sometimes, the wells of living water can become stopped up in our churches. At times, we need to re-dig those wells so that the living water can flow freely again.
How can we do that?
Repent, if needed! If bitterness, anger, or sin has reigned freely, give that to Jesus and receive His forgiveness. Repent from losing your first love, if necessary. Do not allow strife to remain inside of you.
Stir up your hunger again! I remember a time that I was in a meeting where the Spirit of God was moving powerfully, and I was hungry! Holy laughter and joy entered the room, and the evangelist was moving around the room laying hands on people over and over again. I was sitting between two people that were taller than me, so the evangelist seemed to be missing me many times as he was laying hands on people. The next time he got near me, I grabbed his arm and said, “Don’t pass me by!” From then on, he never missed me. I had already been touched by God, but I was determined to receive all I could from Him. My hunger was intense enough that I didn’t even care about appearing rude. Spiritual hunger is like that. When you are hungry, you don’t care what you look like or what people think. You just want God. I left that meeting so filled with God that I could not drive home. I had to stop at a restaurant until I could drive again. That extreme touch from God resulted in much freedom in my life.

Praise and Worship! Remember Paul and Silas in the jail. As they sang hymns, the prison doors opened. Praise and worship can change an atmosphere. It can change the atmosphere in our churches, and it can change the atmosphere around us. Praise Him with all that is in you regardless of how you feel that day.
Prayer! If we draw close to Him, He promised to draw close to us. He told us that He is the rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. He is a rewarder! It is His very nature! You cannot seek Him in faith, and not be rewarded with His presence. Churches that have had significant moves of God spent much time in prayer before the breakthrough came.
Thanksgiving! Be crazy thankful for all God has already done. Resist negativity like the plague.
Be faithful with all that God has already done in your life! Lay hands on as many people as you can for healing and a touch from God. Laying hands on people in a meeting releases the presence of the Holy Spirit in the room. Don’t keep it in the church building, but take it everywhere you go. God rewards faithfulness! God moves when we move!
Let go of your need to control. Allow God to do what He wants to do in you when He wants to do it. In the same way, a leader or pastor must allow the Holy Spirit free movement in a meeting if we want to see a powerful move of God.
I pray daily for another great awakening to erupt in our land, and I believe it is beginning. Spring up, oh well! Set your people free that are bound, Lord, so that the body of Christ can carry the living water to the lost and broken! In Jesus’ name, amen
A TURNAROUND FOR YOU..
A word by Dana Jarvis
I decree you are making the spiritual journey from the bondage of Egypt into your promised land of destiny. I know you have grown weary. Do not let the murmurings and complaining attitudes rule you. It causes the faith to waiver! Your focus is upon the cup of bitter waters that you are currently drinking from.
Rest assured that your God is making these bitter waters sweet!
You shall taste and see that the Lord is good! You are going to see such extravagance in your daily life. He is delivering much into your hands so reach up and take hold. Just as he was with you before, he is with you now. You are going to drink deep of the Living Waters. The bitter waters of life have tried to steal all joy.
However I hear the Lord say, “It is done, I am the Lord who heals you. I am the Lord who will restore you. I am the Lord who will provide your every need. I am the One that is making the bitter waters sweet!”
I feel so strongly that God is removing your cup of bitter waters you have had to drink for so long. He is causing a turnaround for you in a situation that you desperately need him to move. I am speaking to several and know this word is for you. Even as the Lord led Moses and the children of Israel from their bondage at the Red Sea, it still took one step of faith. One step of faith is all it takes to cause a release from all of this. Take a moment and sow into good ground by giving into Spirit Fuel. For just a contribution of $25, $50, or even $100 or more given into Spirit Fuel is an active step and good ground on which to sow. It is a powerful ministry reaching the world for Christ. As you sow that offering, it is that act of faith that will cause the Red Sea where you are standing to part in your life. The bitter cup will be removed and the sweetness of the Lord shall begin to flow!
