Vision Beyond Borders Releases Documentary Exposing Human Trafficking
Today’s world is home to millions of women and children enslaved to sex trafficking and red light districts. Suffering under indescribable oppression and abuse, they live in fear and hopelessness. It will only be through prayer and petition that we will see a change in this atrocity occurring all around the world, even right here at home. For most people today, the problem of human slavery is thought to have been abolished long ago. But this is a far cry from the truth. There are currently 27 million slaves in the world, more than at any other point in history. A large percentage of these are being trafficked for the growing sex trade industry.
Vision Beyond Borders is working in some of the world’s poorest countries to help meet the spiritual and physical needs of women and children enslaved. We are committed to sharing the hope of the Gospel with those trapped in darkness. Rescuing women is not enough! Many women who are rescued from the sex industry eventually return to it because they have no hope in Jesus or no other means of support and have suffered such severe abuse and deception that they believe they are not worth more. We are working to establish rehabilitation facilities to provide the long term support that is essential for these women to survive outside the industry; this includes spiritual guidance and the opportunity to establish a close relationship with Jesus Christ, physical and emotional support as well as educational and training opportunities to help them support themselves once they return to their homes.
Vision Beyond Borders has released a documentary with the purpose of shining a light and exposing this terrible industry. Often times we find that an issue of such scale simply washes over people in an overwhelming barrage of statistics. This film will show the size of the issue but then bring it to a personal level by telling individual women’s stories. It’s a film about hope in the midst of terrible darkness.
Vision Beyond Borders has also put together a 15 day prayer Guide to break down the issues and help you to pray specifically. It is our prayer that God will use this guide to shed light on the atrocities occurring around the sex trafficking industry, bringing freedom to those enslaved and drawing His people to their knees in prayer. It is through God’s power alone that we will see a change.
We serve a God who still moves on behalf of the prayers of His people. The God who parted the Red Sea and allowed the Israelites to pass through on dry ground is the same God we serve today. He does not change. He still moves in answer to our prayers, and He sees the suffering and the tears of His children. It is our prayer that the hand of God will move on behalf of these women and children and in response to your prayers, God alone will receive all the Glory!!
“Therefore I will look unto the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.” Micah 7:7
