You Are In A Divine “Set Up” – A Word by Peggy Morris

When Goliath came against the Israelite army, they cowered and ran away in fear. For forty days the giant intimidated and threatened them as he challenged them to battle.

How could this happen to the mighty Israelite army that had overtaken so many other armies, gaining victory in battle after battle? Yet, here they were, paralyzed with fear and not one of them had the courage or the strength to go up against Goliath. It seems as if the Israelite warriors were cowards, unwilling or unable to stand against this Philistine giant . . . but what if they were never supposed to go out against the giant?

As a young shepherd, David seemed the least likely to be the rising hero of the day, but with the whole of the army running away and hiding, king Saul was out of options and hero’s! This was not a case of being in the right place at the right time; this was a divine “set up”! This was David’s moment to “arise and shine” and God saved the giant just for David!

The Lord had been training David in the secret place, through worship, praise, and even in the fighting of the lion and bear. It was here that David learned by experience of the love and faithfulness of God.

There are times in each of our lives when we will have to face battles that are scary and intimidating. These are the times that the Lord is “awakening” us and calling us to “come up higher”. Each battle that we have victory over moves us closer to our destiny and most definitely closer to the heart of the Lord, for the end result is always for our King to come through us! “We are being transfigured into His very image as we move one brighter level of glory to another. And this glorious transfiguration comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” 2 Cor. 3:18 TPT

So wake up, you living gateways! Lift up your heads, you ageless doors of destiny! Welcome the King of Glory, for He is about to come through you. Ps. 24:7 TPT

One definition of gateway is; “a means of access or entry to a place.” (Definition from Oxford Languages)

The Lord needs to wake us up so that He can gain access into our hearts. This divine “set up” opened David’s door of destiny and catapulted him directly in position to receive it. David was definitely transfigured through his “giant” experience as he was moved into another level of glory.

When we facebattles that are meant to be our launching pad, we must stand and fight, stepping out in obedience to the Lord, knowing that He will never leave us or forsake us. Not only will victory be ours, but that battle will move us into a higher place with the Lord! Don’t cower or run away from your giant, instead run toward your giant and seize what is rightfully yours!

David ran toward the enemy, Goliath, swinging his sling over his head and when he let the stone go, the giant went down! Whenever the scriptures say “the battle is the Lord’s”, (1 Sam. 17:47 NKJ) miraculous things take place. After forty days of constant taunting and terrorizing, suddenly-with just one stone—-in an instant—–it was over!

This victory story does not end there, because David used the enemy’s own sword to utterly destroy him. What the enemy was going to use against David, was the very thing that David used to cut off his head. When the enemy comes against us, God empowers us to defeat and destroy the enemy using the very thing that was intended to destroy us. “But He will crush every enemy, shattering their strength. He will make heads roll.” Ps. 68:21

David fought from the place of victory that day. There was absolutely no doubt in David’s mind as to the outcome of this battle. His words to the giant, “This day the Lord WILL hand you over to me, and I WILL strike you down and cut of your head. And I WILL give the corpses of the army of the Philistines this day to the birds of the sky and the wild beasts of the earth, so that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel, and that this entire assemble may know that the Lord does not save with the sword or with the spear; for the battle is the Lord’s and He WILL hand you over to us.” 1 Sam. 46-47 AMP

The definition of “will” is “expressing inevitable events” (Definition from Oxford Languages). Losing was not an option!  “For My people WILL be the conquerors.” Ps. 68:23

There’s no doubt about it; God hold our lives safely in His hands. He’s the One who keeps us faithfully following Him. O Lord, we have passed through Your fire; like precious metal made pure, You’ve proved us, perfected us, and made us holy. We’ve passed through fire and flood, yet in the end You always bring us out better than we were before, saturated with Your goodness. Psalm 66:9-10, 12 TPT

It is time for the body of Christ to awake and to come away with Him, “for the time is now.” The season has changed and the bondage to our barren winter and hiding is over! (Song of Songs 2) Not going to be, or will be, but IS OVERCan you not discern this new day of destiny breaking forth around you? Is 43:19 Everyone will say, “Come and see the incredible things God has done; it will take your breath away! He multiplies miracles for His people!” Ps. 66:5

I Declare over you, this is the day of your divine “set up!” This day the giants in your life are coming down suddenly through the power of the Lord and you are being catapulted into the “new thing” that the Lord has for you!

So wake up, you living gateways! Lift up your heads, you ageless doors of destiny! Welcome the King of Glory, for He is about to come through you. Ps. 24:7 TPT
