They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry. 11 It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.” (Isaiah 55:10-11, NLT)

Desert: “any area in which few forms of life can exist because of lack of water, permanent frost, or absence of soil.”

Destiny: “the predetermined, usually inevitable or irresistible, course of events.”

When you are in the middle of a desert you must remember that you have a destiny. It is the only thing that will keep you spiritually alive. If you were stuck in a desert in the natural and gave up on the idea that you might actually get out of the desert, you would probably end up dying in the middle of it. There’s something about the drive and the fight that comes with knowing that you might come out of the desert, that someone might find you, or that you might find water that keeps you going. It’s the same in our spiritual walk, when we keep our eyes on the fact that we have a destiny it keeps us from dying.

What I have found in my own personal life is that in the middle of the desert is where my destiny was revealed. I knew that the desert couldn’t last forever and that I did have a destiny and that mindset caused me to focus on what the destiny was. As I did that, God revealed His destiny for my life. The key is, don’t give up on your destiny even in your desert.

Look at the definition of destiny that I shared above. “The predetermined, usually inevitable or irresistible, course of events.” Predetermined, God has already predetermined your destiny so even in a desert you have to know that there’s better days ahead.

If you’re in the middle of a desert and you know you have a destiny but you can’t see, think, or hear because you are just too worn and too dry, I want you to focus on the scripture above, especially verse 11. “It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.”

If you will keep your eyes on God, your desert will reveal your destiny.
